Perfect for carving the bowl of spoons.
While waiting for the wood intended for bowls to dry, I started looking around for other useful things I could turn on my wood lathe. I started with maple and cherry spatulas and then started trying to figure out a quick way to make cooking spoons. I found a video showing the carving of a spoon bowl with this type of carving device so I ordered one and used it on a spoon blank I started yesterday, 10 minutes after it was delivered. Literally 3 minutes later, the spoon bowl was ready for rough sanding. Perfect tool for this particular job. I highly recommend it if spoons are your thing. The pic is the first spoon with finish soaking in before wiping.

It's okay
I first tried this on my little Ryobi grinder. No bueno! It just about shook my arms off. I thought well this isn't good so I went ahead and put it on my good Milwaukee. It instantly performed better the wobble was gone the vibration was gone. It takes some getting used to but it does what it's supposed to do

Disappearing teeth?
I had only carved out maybe 2 cubic inches making a bowl before it stopped cutting and was basically polishing. Then I noticed the teeth were all rounded off. Had the grinder on medium speed bc I was being careful not to take too much out. That obviously wasn't a problem.

Wobbles
Ok, scratch the below review. I didn't have the washer of the grinder between the gou9and the grinder. I got brave enough to try a different grinder and it works great. It removes a lot of material fast. Excellent tool. User error at first and it cost me a grinder.Maybe I just got a bad one. Put it on my grinder. Turned it on, there was a distinct vibration. (Yes it was on tight). Figuted it was normal as the gouge was heavy and long. Started working a piece of scrap spruce. Grinder quit working less than a minute later.
