I have coworkers that have the charge 5. I was never a fan. They have a lot of highs but the bass is crap. This speaker has much better bass. It sounds much more balanced. I can't stand high pitched speakers screaming in my ear. This is for those who want a better quality sound over a name brand. It lasts my entire 12 hr shifts, unless I put it full blast the whole time, then it'll give out in 8-10 hours. I've had it for a couple months. I use it in my buggy on the railroad of a steel mill. It gets a lot of dust and moisture exposure, but it has held up well. I would definitely recommend it if you want this style of speaker. It's half the price of the jbl and sounds better and just as loud. No brainer imo.

This Bluetooth speaker has everything I was looking for; decent size, 40 watts, waterproof, 24 hour long lasting battery and a great sound with rich bass. It has an app that lets you control the sound with a graphic equalizer, control the lights, control volume, see battery life and more. Even has a lanyard. It does NOT have a flat spot on the bottom for a base, but seems to be weighted so that it doesn't roll away. I like it! I returned a JBL Essential Charge 2 in favor of the W-King speaker that retails for $179 which is overpriced.

I’ve recently bought a stand-up paddleboard and want to be able to take my tunes with me. I researched and researched and researched and was so happy to find this WK portable speaker. We have bought two other beach radios from W-KING and pair them. We love the battery life of these products you can play all day long at a fairly high volume and never run out of battery. You do have to control the lights from the W-KING app, on your phone. These lights are BRIGHT! It took us a minute to figure out how to turn the lights off to save battery. I can’t imagine anyone not being happy with this little speaker, I have no complaints about the function (except I’d prefer a lighter color). The speaker is covered with a type of fabric. At full volume, the sound is still crisp & clear. The BASS on this little guy is powerful! I chose the 40 W speaker because the clarity is just leaps and bounds of higher quality than the less expensive speakers I was looking at. That being said, I’ve read reviews where people traded in their more expensive portable speakers JBL and Sony for the W- king. One review that I read said that this is for “ music people“ we have had other brands of waterproof speakers, but the base was not there so they just sounded very thin. Search no more, you found your perfect portable speaker! I can’t wait to hop on my paddleboard and set sail.

The sound quality of this speaker is nice. Good bass response and clear vocals and highs. And gets plenty loud without distortion.I also really like that the speakers are omni-directional and facing different ways for a feeling of 360 sound.The reasons I decided to return this speaker:1. The app allows you to turn on the "auto off" feature, which I enabled, yet the speaker never turned off after inactivity. I got woken up multiple times with the low battery noise being loud since it just sat idle wasting battery all night.2. The power on/off sound is VERY LOUD and unable to be disabled. I prefer no power up sound, but seems every speaker has one these days, but this one was so loud I cringed every time I turned it on.3. The app is fine, but I prefer to have all features able to be controlled via the speaker itself. For example, there is no way to turn the lights on and off without the app. As someone who has purchased speakers/lights that use apps, eventually the company stops updating/supporting the app and I am stuck without a working product because of it.
