The reviews for this item are very mixed, so I didn’t really expect too much, when it arrived today.Before we started, my hubby and I watched an instructional video on YouTube. We did a “dry run” to check if all the parts would fit together well, then off to the pool we went, to install the fountain.I took of the return valve and attached the the according fountain part to the valve opening, then I tightened it with the included tightening ring. My hubby had already attached the sprayer part to the riser, and I went ahead and attached the riser to the elbow and tightened it.I thought the way the sprayer attachment was fit to the riser might give me problems, and that it would most likely fly all over the pool, once I turn on the pump. Luckily I was wrong. ;-) The fountain started working immediately and everything stayed in place. I have a variable speed pump, and I never run it on full speed, so I had to adjust the slider setting on the fountain to the fully closed position, to get adequate water output.As you can see on the video, the fountain is working nicely and aerates the pool nicely, and that was my major goal.I bought the fountain as a natural way to aerate the deep end of our pool. We have a pool with an attached jacuzzi, and there is a little waterfall from the jacuzzi to the pool in the shallow end of the pool. This looks very nice but is not strong enough to aerate the whole pool.I am just in the process to balance ph and alkalinity values. Alkalinity is way to high, and I have to use muriatic acid to reduce it. This usually automatically reduces the ph too, and I hope the additional aeration from the fountain will keep the ph in check.It is daylight as I am writing this, so I can’t say much about the “glowing”part of the fountain.However, I don’t really care if it glows or not. That was never a dealbreaker for me. We have colored pool lights in the pool, and several LED lights distributed over the pool at the ceiling of the pool cage.To summarize, the threads on the fountain fit our return valve perfectly, the fountain was up and running within 5 minutes, and for us it works nicely. I feel I definitely got my money’s worth. Time will show, if the PVC construction of the fountain will be able to withstand the almost all year round heat here in SWFL.I would recommend this fountain to a friend.I added an “at night” video. It really looks nice with the pool lights on.

Unfortunately, this product is very poorly designed and fails in every way in my opinion. 1.) The glow in the dark portion (spray head) fits into the vertical riser arm with an elbow connector and is held into place via a friction connection with a rubber insert that fits into the elbow connector and a union. Unfortunately, the union doesn’t slip over the spray head in order to hold it in place due to the raised sprayer holes, and is therefore useless for holding this piece in place. Friction connection + Pressurized water = bad idea (I got soaked multiple times from the spray head flying off) 2.) The flow regulator sleeve that is intended to spin so that you can adjust how much water is diverted to the fountain is too long and a.) doesn’t allow you to tighten the ball joint union allowing the ENTIRE fountain arm spin in circles and throw water everywhere and b.) doesn’t allow you to regulate the flow as intended. I have owned a similar item from a different manufacturer and it worked flawlessly. I could understand the pool outlet fit-up not being compatible for all pools, but that is literally the ONLY thing about this product that did work for me. I could go purchase parts to make this fountain work as advertised and spend double what I paid in the first place, but I shouldn’t have to. Unless you want a DIY fountain for your pool that requires a fair amount of modifications, I recommend you purchase elsewhere.

This is a neat little item. It does exactly what it is supposed to do but it did not work right out out of the box.First the piece that regulates water flow is too long and it keeps you from being able to tighten the low arm assembly. I had to sand one side down to make it fit properly.Second, the glow in the dark part with the holes for the water to come out is actually 2 pieces. The top part with the holes is glued to the main glow in the dark part. On mine the glue was missing is a few areas which caused water to spray backwards in places instead of forward. I fixed it by simply adding some super glue to that area.The riser pole for me was too long but it is easy to just cut some of it off so the fountain barely sticks out of the water.If you have a bit of do it yourself in you this is good product. If you aren't comfortable making the kind of adjustments I have mentioned you may want to get something else.You can make one of these with Home Depot parts but without taking a good bit of time to clean up the pvc and hide your glue marks it will look unprofessional.

Bought this just to add some fun to our pool. Installed in about 10 mins. The fountain head rests just at the surface of our pool.We had an unused return from an old cleaner so I installed it there. It threaded into that old return just fine. I found if you installed that part first it was easier to tighten. Take your time when assembling the rest of it and make sure the seals (there are two) don't fall out or slide too far down the pipe. Orient it how you want it before you install in the pool. That will save some time. Note: the valve to control the height of the fountain tightens when you tighten the elbow on to it. So to adjust the flow you have to loosen the elbow. I can still feel a little bit of water coming the the wall but it's just going into the pool and didn't effect the fountain height so I'm not going to tighten it anymore.
