Exceptional PQ and Reliable
The Uray HDMI encoder is an exceptional device, works as advertised and surpasses not only my expectations, but also surpasses a much more expensive encoder which I also own. My primary purpose is to view my home television programming at any location in my home on any device or away from home via the Internet. I’ve used several types of Slingboxes over the past 15 years providing acceptable PQ and connectivity depending upon network and Internet bandwidth. This device performs a similar function, but by using VLC Media Player – Network Stream as a receiver / decoder, video can be displayed on any device. For the past 9 months, I have tested this device at 2200 kbps – H.265 video and 64 kbps – 44100 audio sampling rate – AAC. Even though 1080p offers more pixels and a more resolute image that 720p, I have decided to use 720p to reduce bandwidth still providing a very good image even on larger screens such as a 55”.This device does not provide remote control capabilities for selecting source feeds, but devices are available such as the Harmony Hub or Keene Anywhere IR. Many other means exist to provide distant “remote control” as well.It could also be used to distribute any other HDMI material such as output from a laptop or output from a security camera system.I am using a U9 HDMI Splitter to send the source signal to my TV and to the encoder. If you decide to use WAN capabilities, like other devices, it will require port forwarding through your router. I recommend choosing a port other than the default for better security. Also, change the password and either reserve an IP on your router or use a static IP on the device.I recently needed a firmware upgrade, contacted the manufacturer’s representative and received the file within 2 days. I have been so impressed that I bought another.

It works well & awesome customer support
I have an interesting IRL/Fitness streaming setup at home.My home gym is in a detached garage which is about 100ft from my router. The only way to get Internet out there was to use the spotty wifi or power line Ethernet adapters. With the Ethernet adapters, I set up one of these encoders to get my video to my streaming PC via RTMP. If you're a little tech savvy, they're fairly easy to setup and they give you a TON of parameters to modify to make sure your video quality is adequate. It just works.Additionally, the tech support is phenomenal. It's a relatively small company and it feels like a very personal focus with helping you get what you need to make sure the product works (I only needed to get firmware updates but they're quick to get me everything)

A perfect device to stream video over the internet
Bought three units for two locations. Installation and configuration is straight forward with the help of the written instructions provided with the product. The instructions for configuring port forwarding on the internet router can be found on the internet, unless you are familiar with this process.I used this device to stream video from three different sources over the internet while traveling. It worked perfectly. An HD-like video could be streamed with any of the protocols running on this device.I am very pleased I have finally found a replacement for Sling Box!

Works sometimes, sometimes not
Ordered this so that we could stop paying a multi-destination streaming service. We stream to 2 destinations only so we hoped this would work for us. At first, it did. This device should really have DHCP configured as default, but with a little network knowhow accessing the Web UI was fairly easy.Once the basic network settings were setup we went to configuring the device for our streaming services. For the most part, it was just a matter of copying the destination settings from our multi-destination streaming service to the device. Some areas of the Web UI were a little confusing as to how to save each setting. After stream 1 and 2 were set up in the device for our 2 destinations, we tested it and at first all seemed fine. Then we decided to reconfigure the device's streams for our multi-destination streaming service and 2 destinations and that's when things went haywire. The device supports up to 4 streams and depending on the resolution of those streams, you can be very limited in quality. We used stream 1 as our 720p stream to our multi-destination streaming service, but did not enable it. Then we configured streams 2 and 3 for our actual 720p streaming destinations. Unfortunately, stream 3 was limited to 540p in the device. However, when we previewed the stream online it was 144p. Unusable for video streaming, obviously. So, we configured streams 1 and 2 for our actual destinations, but once we enabled them, neither stream would appear online. Settings were checked 3 and 4 times but we were never able to get the streams to appear. We rebooted the device several times during troubleshooting, but nothing came of it.We considered resetting it to factory default settings, but then thought that if we had this much trouble with it initially, it may not be worth using at all.

Works well but one quirt
The product works as advertised. I do have an issue that happens roughly 30% of the time. When the source is turned on, the audio doesn’t come through. The solution is to turn off the source and turn it on again. Will give it 5 starts if this issue did not happen.
