Excellent machine! Be extra careful with it, you're not likely to get any hardware replaced.
Got this for my 10 year old's first computer as he is interested in programming, making Roblox games, minecraft mods, etc.It was great. Better than I expected honestly. Got a decent gaming machine when I was just looking for a cheap machine with at least minimum specs to start programming.Unfortunately, mere days after getting his "best Christmas gift ever", it was accidentally knocked out of his lap and the screen crushed. We've been unable to get the display repaired because Gateway does not make the part anymore and it cannot be found. So just be warned regarding repairs, hardware is no longer supported.Gateway support was respectful, but I really had to continually pester them to get any useful information/action out of them.

8 month life and gateways does not honor warranty!
After 8 months the screen came undone and the laptop would no longer charge. This was the replacement I got after my 2 year old one keyboard stopped working. Two seperate laptops, same models though, and both last less that 3 years. I got the same model because I liked it a lot, and my last gateway lasted 12 years.Additionally, Gateway does not honor their manufacture warranty unless purchased at an “authorized retailer” which Amazon is not.
