Excellent
As someone trained in neuroscience, NLP and communication for over 20 years I have nothing but respect for this book, it's masterful in its composition. The author knows how to communicate ideas and in the most effective way possible. I love how all his thoughts are structured for optimal learning. He presents an idea, different ways to apply it, and tips for success so you understand all the ins and outs without it getting too complicated or overwhelming. He knows the importance of using stories to communicate ideas and does it better than anyone I've seen. The stories are not long or drawn out, he presents ideas, supports them with studies, then uses an engaging story to drive the point home and then shows you how to apply the idea. I also loved how the exercises are placed at the right moments because reading about improving memory is not going to improve your memory but putting the ideas to use. This is one of those books that by the time you finish you will have a strong grasp and experience of the ideas to begin using in your life, not something you'll forget after using and never apply. I'm so glad I came across this as my first memory book.

How to spot AI books
The problem with books these days specially on Amazon is so many are written by AI now and it's harder to know what's actually written by a human or legitimate authors. This is more true for books on memory improvement, can't tell you how many I come across written by ChatGPT. Even though Amazon is a hotspot for AI books, the site also makes it easy to weed them out. First look at the publish date, if a book was published before 2022 which is when AI became popular it's a good sign it's human written. Second and this is where Amazon comes in handy and that's to see the date reviews were posted. If a book has reviews posted before 2022 that means it's not AI generated.Kam's Everyday Memory passes both tests as its publish date is 2011 and the reviews go as far back as 2012, so it's far from AI generated and you can tell from the writing. Kam's a highly skilled writer and his ideas around improving memory are top notch work really well. I will definitely be recommending this author and reading his other books.

Good Read
I haven't gotten too far in this book so far, but what I have read seems to be really good. This book is different from other memory books in that it gives you really simple and easy ways to improve your memory. I like the part about getting the positive vibe about your memory and not saying that "my memory is bad".

breath of fresh air
I've been taking care of my aging father for the past few years and in that time I've read more memory books than I can count most of which left me frustrated. They're usually filled with techniques that sound great on paper but don't work in the real world of fatigue, confusion and unpredictable moods. I liked this book for its simple and realistic approach for supporting someone whose memory is fading. It acknowledges something most books don't which is your brain is built to forget and it is actively making you forget so forgetting isn't a sign that your brain isn't working right but really that it is working the way it's supposed to. So it doesn't treat bad memory like a problem to be solved but understanding how the brain works and how it records information and then doing things that make it easier to record information and then doing things that makes it easier to record information. The techniques it talks about doesn't assume the reader has unlimited time and patience to create complicated stories and connections. It speaks directly to people like me that real life is messy and aging minds don't work the way they used to. If you're caring for someone and traditional memory advice is leaving you feeling overwhelmed or defeated this book will feel like a breath of fresh air.

helped me study smarter during finals
As a first semester college student gearing up for finals, I picked up this memory book hoping it would help me retain a semester's worth of information in just a few weeks. It taught me a fresh way to approach learning, turning studying into something more helpful and less stressful. Instead of rereading the same pages over and over, I was connecting facts in a way that stuck. My recall felt sharper, and I could bring up details much quicker when writing essays or answering test questions. It is also surprisingly readable. The author explains everything clearly, with examples that are easy to follow, even for someone completely new to the topic. Once you get the hang of these tools, you can apply them to nearly any subject. There's no fluff, and it doesn't talk down to you. Just straightforward tools and examples that make sense when you're under pressure to perform. If you're studying for finals, or really any kind of exam, this book is a good book to have by your side.

Good Find
After following the instructions of reading this book a few times and after applying its lessons over the past months, I'm updating my review. I want to say I am really glad I bought it, there is a lot to learn here.I've read other memory books on the kindle and they are weak in comparison. It seems like Amazon has a very poor screening process. They seem to let any author publish a book, regardless of the content or quality. The kindle library is full of so called "memory" books that are big on promises but short on results. What's worse is that over half these books are 30 - 40 page pamphlets. The number of techniques you learn is limited, with very little substance. This is especially true of books in the Prime Lending Library. If you want to take the safe route, get this book. Although not all the tips are unique and innovative, and no memory book is, the presentation is excellent. More than anything, this book is a complete resources. It is not a 30 page pamphlet like others. It contains the most memory improvement strategies, for the most possible situations you will encounter - all in one place. An added bonus is that the reading is very relaxed, never too complicated or dull.
