Great for storage shelves
We have bought so many of these, I have lost track. We are using them in the garage and our shed. The only ones I have considered anchoring to the wall were due to an uneven floor, not the shelves. My brother visited and I had to send him the link so he could get some. I like that you can arrange them pretty much however you want and get creative. I would recommend that if you place them on a floor you don't want scratched up or if the top pole is where you can rub over/against it that you purchase some of the rubber guards that go on the ends of the poles - they HURT if you scrape across them!

Does the job!
Simple design, easy to assemble, sturdy enough for a garage shelf.Wooden shelves are not very robust. The packaging does not protect the angles and they all came damaged (see picture). Not a big deal.Note: you can adjust the height of all shelf's except the middle one which assemble the lower and upper columns.

Easy to set up and pretty sturdy but can be improved
After reading a bunch of reviews I decided to try he Edsal, and so far Im pretty happy. Lets start with the good - Was very easy to install. Im pretty handy, and have assembled a bunch of products, but I think set up is really easy even for a novice. One thing I did notice, and other reviews have pointed out as well - Assemble it where you want the shelf to stay. Due to its design, its not possible to move once assembled. It is pretty sturdy and holds quite a lot of weight but Im not 100% confident. It does wobble a bit, and doesn't instill confidence. Now for the bad - The particle boards are piece of C%*$. Be very careful when trying to wedge them in. I had one big chunk break off when I tried to push it in. I wish it was better quality. Overall, not bad, and I would definitely recommed.

MUST REPLACE SHELVES
I would give this product an extra star if it DIDN'T come with the wood shelves. This may seem odd but the wood shelving they ship with the unit is a very flimsy particle board. It's not like the sturdy particle board you're used to seeing at home depot. It's almost as if Edsal went out of their way to manufacture an especially terrible particle board. What they should do is sell and ship just the metal framing in a compact packaging and tell you to go to Lowe's to buy the 2 ft x 4 ft shelves....which is exactly what I did. That would save a tremendous amount on the cost of the product as well as the shipping costs. If you want to store any appreciable amount of weight (I'm talking cases of water) on this shelving unit then you need to replace the 3/8 inch boards that come with it. I spent $90 at Lowe's for five pre-cut 1/2x24x48 inch birch plywood sheets and they fit this unit perfectly. Now the unit is a lot stronger and sturdier. The actual metal racking isn't especially thick however it is made of steel so it feels pretty sturdy. I would not consider this a heavy duty rack. The metal wire rack I have standing next to this unit is a lot stronger and can hold a lot more weight. The reason I went with this unit is because I wanted flat shelving.I would probably purchase this again but it would've been nice to know that the shelves would have to be replaced immediately.

Good for garage storage
This is the 5th Edsal shelf we have purchased. We own three that are 18'' deep, but prefer this one that is 24''. We purchased this particular shelf to go in our garage to store our camping items. We wound up with an extra shelf for storage! We pulled the shelf off the wall by a couple of inches so the longer items can hang off the back.Pros:* It holds a lot of stuff* Two shelves are adjustableCons:* It is a bit tricky to put together. It took two people.* The shelf material is a cheap particle board. The corners start to crumble right out of the box. However, once it is in place, it is very sturdy.* For this particular shelf the metal sides are slightly higher than the particle board. It is not a huge inconvenience, however our last shelf the boards were higher and I liked that much better. (See pictures.)I paid full price for this item. I am giving my honest and unbiased review.

The frame is fantastic - the shelves.. work...
As the title states, the frame is awesome. I was able to convert this from a UPS boxed item into a full shelving unit in about 10 minutes. The frame is extremely sturdy and there's plenty of storage space. My issue is with the shelves. They're made of particle board and started chipping from the get go, no matter how careful I was. I helped remedy this by cutting cardboard rectangles to fit over the particle board as protective cushions. The shelves also came warped. I don't expect them to last long, so I'll have to come up with a replacement soon. The frame is what makes this such a great deal. I used to work in retail and the frame is definitely professional grade. If they shipped these with plywood shelves, it would be an easy five star product.

Setup as a workbench and love it after one adjustment
Great for the price. I actually made a long workbench instead of a tall unit. The only thing I did have to change is that if I put the shelving on the top of the workbench like they said it should be I would probably cut my wrists open on the sharp corners (look at the top part of the picture they have) so I only put the bottom connector in and set the shelve on top of that. So far no problems and if it gets a little shaky I will just attach a wire to the top two connectors at each corner.

Good addition to garage.
This is a good product and I would give a 5 star review except for a couple of things. 1. where top and bottom uprights meet there should have been a substantial clip, but the joint depended on the third shelf to hold the uprights together. 2. Packaging should have been better from the manufacturer as when it arrived I had 2 shelve inserts that were broken on the end not enough so they would fail but enough to weaken the unit. Other than that assembly is better suited to 2 people than just 1.
