UPDATE: January 24, 2016 - PRICE HIKE ALERT! I still love my little lamp but I need to point out the the price has shot up since I purchased it. I paid a very reasonable $24.99 in 2010, and the latest price is now $35.64. Don't know if I'd rate it so highly at that price - one of the most attractive things about this lamp was it was a cute little lamp and I paid so little. Is a hike of 33% over a 5 year period reasonable? Perhaps. But just be aware that my 5 star review was in consideration of the reasonable price as well as the quality. It is a well done CHEAP lamp. I don't know if i'd buy it again at this price.ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a perfect little lamp that fits into a small space. It is beautiful and gives of a lot of light. This lamp looks exactly like the photo in the ad and the plastic base is painted to look like wood. To a casual observer, I don't think the difference is obvious at all, and the design is so simple that it doesn't attract a lot of attention. It just provides much needed light in a very dark corner of my study - I really like that the shade is white, which makes the light so much more functional.I also like the low price. It is so great that I didn't have to spend tons of money for this simple little fix. Not high end, but it works, is attractive, and has made the room so much more pleasant! It is low priced, but not trashy looking!

This lamp is very lovely, so it scores in the looks department. It's slightly smaller and lighter than I expected, so don't expect it to be a conversation piece. It's perfect for my night table, and matches my furniture. It's worth the price.

I needed a new table for my bedroom nightstand. My old and reliable one I'd had for over ten years just stopped working. And boy, how times have changed. Finding a small size lamp for this purpose that would provide sufficient light became a difficult task! And then I found this lamp. This is the easiest review I have ever written for everything about it is awesome. The lamp actually is much more attractive in person than in the picture. The title calls the base polyresin wood-look and that makes it sound like it may look a little cheap. And that is so not true! The base does indeed look like wood without the cumbersome weight actual wood can provide. The shade is of the highest quality with just the right amount of thickness that looks great on the lamp while allowing a great amount of light to come out. That was always my problem for as a bedside lamp I needed enough light to be able to read etc. and this lamp provides what I need perfectly.This lamp is so easy to put together and is stylish, modern and sleek with a style that will blend into any decor. And I also want to note that the polyresin base is very easy to clean. It looks much more expensive than it is. You will indeed find it an excellent addition to any smaller size room. Finally a lamp that delivers. It looks amazing and works great delivering a great amount of light. Highly recommended.

This lamp is EFFING TINY. I mean, it came in good condition, looks just like the picture, and I guess I could've paid closer attention to the listed height. But idk, "16.whatever inches" is a lot harder to conceptualize than "look at an actual picture of how tiny this lamp is on your normal-ass sized counter." It's a perfectly fine lamp and I'll find a use for it, but definitely don't go in expecting a full-size lamp.

If I got this at a garage sale for a $1 it might have been worth it, but nothing more then that.. The shade was all dented, The lamp base was scratched and there was a huge chip/ crack where the bulb screws in.. I know this didn't happened in the shipping cause there wasn't any pieces in the box it came in. They said it had some damage but it was a lot worst then they lead to believe.

While I am usually very happy with Amazons deliveries, this one made the exception.I agree with most comments that the lamps look nice and do what you expect from them.However, the fastening of the shade is faulty. In a normal lamp the shades metalbase goes in between the lower and upperpart of the socket where it keeps the shade safely. These lamps have metalbases that are too small to fit over the thread inthe socket and they sit loosely on the socket, tending to shake and fall off. Not a product I would recommend.I would have returned these lamps, but I live in the caribbean and just can't do it.

I love this lamp and chose it for its small footprint, the minimal amount of space it needs. I primarily use it in my tiny guest room/office. If you're thinking of purchasing this lamp, you DO need to be aware that it doesn't have a huge amount of visual "weight" compared to many other lights. It is definitely on the small and compact size. If you are considering getting one for your desk, you might want to opt for a pair. Even on a minimally sized desk (where I have placed mine), it simply looks better to have a couple of these. If you're adding this to a room with plenty of average to large pieces of furniture and accessories, it could get "lost in the crowd".But...wow!...I put it in another so-called "bedroom" in our home which normally looks very small because the room itself is barely large enough for a bed and bureau and sliver of desk. With a pair of the lamps on either side of an equally scaled down loveseat, the room looked considerably larger. Great illusion of more space than you actually have - and perfect if you are staging your home for a sale or just want a usable space that doesn't look cramped.So in a very tiny room, perhaps even a dorm room, the compact size is an advantage. Live in a cramped apartment, short on square feet? This is the lamp for you, a good option to a wall mounted, swing-arm light. It is easily portable, nice and light, but hefty enough not to easily tip. Worried about the polyresin lamp base looking cheap? It doesn't. While not a strong wood look, it is a nice solid and appealing color.
