Perfect
It took a bit of time to be delivered, but it's finally here. After that, it's a simple unmanaged switch, so you just have to plug everything and switch it on.I understand some people are complaining that this is the continental Europe version of this switch, with a continental power socket and an inconvenient adaptor. Whilst I completely agree this should be pointed out at time of sale, the adaptor, as inconvenient as it is, is still provided. Also, this model's full Model Number is GS508GE. The UK one is GS508UK, which can also be found on Amazon, but is a few pounds more expensive (well almost nothing since that one comes with free delivery).I bought the continental Europe version because it suits my need (I have a bit of computing and A/V equipment imported, so it is more convenient for my particular use to remove the adapter and plug it on my continental multi-socket (still properly fused tu UK requirements, health and safety first!)). I must admit that, at first, when looking up this switch, I found the UK one, and then was suggested this 'GE' one, for a few quids less. When looking up the model numbers (which really is the only difference, the switch itself being the same world wide), I was pleased to see it would suit me better! Also, the life time warranty is a good thing for peace of mind.

not easy to install
For some bizarre reason, this item does not come with a UK mains power supply but an EU one. You will need to purchase an adaptor.

Great for home network!!
Usually, well at least in my home, the modem and router is located in the room where the desktop stands. Wanting to connect the smart TV, Blue Ray player, Wii..etc in another room, the network switch is a blessing as I have only a single cable to thread through the roof!

Standard Netgear Switch
As a switch it works fine as do most Netgear products, the weak point is the power adaptor, again like all Netgear products their power adaptors need improving. This particular one has a socket that goes down & to the left so you cannot use a multi point socket with connectors below or to the left as this adaptor blocks them - Netgear take note - improve your power adaptors!!!

UK buyer beware!
This is a European model and is supplied with a 2 prong adapter. Do not buy.

Comes with 2-pin European AC adaptor plug, not UK
I ordered this from e2GO and they shipped me a model with a European 2 pin AC power adaptor which is no good in the UK. The package did include a very cheap 2-pin to UK adaptor but it doesn't fit properly so the AC adaptor just falls out. If it does stay in the weighty AC adaptop is turned through 90 degrees and will obscure any vacant power points to the side. I have complained to e2GO and will update this review when I get the response. In future I will buy from a UK supplier (if its possible to tell - I don't recall it being obvious that e2GO was not in the UK).

Does exactly what it is designed to do.
Excellent product. We use them (3) all over the house that has been wired with CAT5 cable.

Forgot its there!!
This switch has been working so reliably, 24/7 for years now, that I've forgotten it was even there!Hence this very, very late review!
