Bye bye ants!
The media could not be loaded. My poor apple tree suffered last year as ants moved in; they loved it so much, they’ve come back with a vengeance! After researching different things I could try, I settled on this. I read reviews before I purchased so knew what I was getting. Yes the pot is small and seems only half full when you first open it, but I only have one affected tree so it didn’t matter to me. I applied liberally with an old spoon around the whole trunk and have enough left over to keep topping up if needed or to re-do next year. The grease is thick, sticky and went on easy enough. The hardest part of applying was trying to get all the ants out of the way! If you’re using to deter ants and they’re absolutely relentless as in my case and you care about nature as I do, I’d recommend applying at dawn or after dusk when ants are least active. The product was effective immediately, the ants crawling up the trunk were confused and couldn’t go past the grease. It’s been 3 days and there’s just the odd hopeful ant visiting, they realise there’s no way up and they’re gradually moving out. The grease even withstood a whole day of heavy rain yesterday and is still doing its job. Overall I’m really happy and there’s hope for this years apple harvest!

It’s an effective way of controlling aphids without using chemicals.
I had young apple trees that were being overrun with aphids and ants. Problem solved, but you do need to make sure that you also apply it to any supporting stakes as those pesky insects are quite determined and will find another way up if they can. It’s not a large pot and it will need reapplying in a couple of months throughout the summer months when the insects are active, but as these are only young trees I expect it will last a couple of years

Keeps ants off fruit trees
Last year aphids decimated my cherry tree thanks to a helping hand from the ants so I bought this grease to keep the pesky ants at bay. It has certainly done the job this year and lasted all season from just one application in early spring shortly after leaf bud. I applied about a 5cm tall band of grease to the base of a young tree about 10cm from the soil line with a plastic cutlery knife which was quick and easy. It is very viscous so easy to control and apply but could potentially make a mess if you're not using a suitable tool. I managed to get a tiny bit on my sleeve but it washed straight off. The ants were forlornly scurrying about at the base of the tree but were unable to bridge the barrier up the trunk of the tree all season. Excellent product, will definitely buy again when I run out which could be a while as there is plenty left over for next season and beyond.

Aphids on apple tree
Last year we began yo have problems with aphids and fluffy white substance on our apple tree... so I gave this a go.Thick grease easily spread but wear gloves as impossible to wash off!!! Has definitely helped the problem... also jetlagged areas with problems regularly and now almost non existent. So helps stops bugs crawling up for sure... just requires a bit of care also with the tree as wouldn't work alone i don't think given we have other trees near, and bugs will crawl up this yo nest on the apple tree! Good price. Also only used half a tub so plenty left for winter season !
