TopeakTool Set

My experience with this tool was not a happy one.I have (like most) always "guessed" the torque on stem, disc, seat bolts etc using a common sense and "feel" approach. Over the years I've never had an issue with this method. However, I thought it was about time I got the correct tool for the job. Not really wanting to pay the relatively high price of a torque wrench, I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this one. Well, the first bolt took more pressure than I would normally have used. But I thought "hey, this is designed for the job". Second one seemed to require a little more and the third threaded. I'm not sure on how this tool is calibrated but, reading other reviews, I assumed it to be of some accuracy. The tool was returned, and refunded promptly by amazon. My advice, should you buy it, is use with caution. It's possible I had a faulty one but I won't be buying another to find out. Buy cheap, buy twice. Oh, and the extra hassle of sorting out the thread it damaged. Cheers Topeak.

Waiting for a carry case with the 18pc tool set and only a torque wrench was received.

Purchased to check the bolts on my new carbon frame EMTB, did not want to over tighten them! The Topeak represents excellent value for money and with the sockets provided (housed in a handy magnetic case) was able to check all bolts against the torque setting shown on individual bolts. Just to be aware the max torque setting is 12nm but some bolts are torqued to 18 nm - not a real problem as can check tightness without over tightening.Cannot fault for value, and usual one day delivery.

Cheap and precise. Exactly what one would want from a Torque Wrench.If you have a carbon bike you really need to use a torque wrench but if like myself you only use it very occasionally then is hard to justify paying £30 for another tool that will need calibration eventually.This work works really well. Just follow the instructions and NEVER EVER unscrew using it. Use another tool to unscrew bolts and screws, use this Torque Wrench to screw them back in.Using carbon past helps and allows for the use of lower torques.

Nice tool for the occasional torque-wrenching. Build quality is surprisingly good.

Does its job, and it does it well. It's really easy to use as well. If you are looking for a torque wrench for you bike this is the one. The price is awesome as well and it is all you'll need. Given that you do NOT use it to loosen any bolts (duh) and that you store it carefully it looks like it will keep its calibration and keep doing what it's supposed to. The storing compartment for the different tools is great and handy.The only real con is that you need to be careful on how you store it, since any hard hits might mess with the calibration of the scale. I think that case for it would be perfect.

This is not a set of tools.It is a single torque wrench, read the description not the title.Even the torque wrench calibration seems inaccurate
