Great oil
Very good oil. I use it as one of the ingredients in my sunscreen. It lasts a good while. The consistency is nice and smooth not too thin or thick. The price is acceptable giving the good quality of the oil.

Sun protection
Great sun protection. My family uses this constantly, it helps prevents sunburns and if we forget to apply and get a sunburn it heals it fast with no peeling. Fantastic moisturizer.

THE FACTS AS OPPOSED TO CONJECTURE, GUESSWORK ETC.
I only received the oil yesterday (which by the way smells absolutely delicious) so cannot speak to whether it suits or will benefit me personally. However, after reading some of the reviews I went on a fact finding mission which I wish everyone would do before posting questions and, even worse, replying with wrong information.WHAT IS CARROT SEED OIL? - This oil is NOT from domesticated carrots. Has anyone even seen carrot seeds much less imagine how oil could be extracted from them? Carrot "oil" is a vegetable oil made from carrots. Yes! the kind we eat. It is made from a mixture of crushed carrot roots immersed in a carrier oil (olive, coconut oil etc.). It is NOT an essential oil.The company has clearly shown the scientific name of Carrot Seed Oil which is Daucus carota. A litte research and a lot less guessing show that both domestic and wild carrot are from the Daucus carota L, also called Wild Carrot, European Wild Carrot, Bird's Nest, Bishop's Lace, and Queen Anne's lace. (The last name said to be because the flower resembles lace, prominent in fine clothing of Queen Anne's day; the red flower in the center is said to represent a droplet of blood where she pricked herself with a needle when she was making the lace).Introduced to North America from Europe as a medicinal herb it is the ancestor of the cultivated carrot, edible when young, but the root rapidly grows woody and fibrous with age.BENEFITS: Scientific studies have shown that Carrot Seed Oil is effective at combating several strains of bacteria (may help relieve eczema), has some degree of effectiveness against yeasts such as Candida albicans and Aspergillus, has anti-inflammatory properties, and might be beneficial in cosmetics as a rejuvenator for aging skin.It also may be beneficial for hard-to-treat infections and for wound care. (From Healthline)CAUTION 1 - It shouldn't be ingested and should always be diluted with a carrier oil prior to using it on your skin.CAUTION 2 -To be noted is that Carrot Seed essential oil contains a compound called umbelliferone, or 7-hydroxycoumarin that absorbs UVB light and is commonly used in sunscreens. HOWEVER, there’s no evidence that carrot seed oil is safe to use alone as a sunscreen. While it might block UVB light, no evidence shows that it can stop sunburns or sun damage, or protect against skin cancer. And there is more both on the pro and con side. Please do your research. The National Library of Medicine shows the scientific studies.
