Works fantastic and is solid - and he’s y
My prior audio interfaces and mixers (150-200 dollar range) -literally I thought, Is this Podcast Barbie life size Minibrands let’s play podcast set? No. This is legit. Not plug and play but that’s okay. Just take the time to set it up and it’s good to go. It could be plug and play but I set up the audio recording studio as a backup even though that’s not the platform I’m using it on so that could be the issue. My advice: buy a case. You want this to last.

Good Stuff!
It works as a stand alone… so you can practice with your headphones without plugging it into your laptop. Records audio that is true to the signal you put through it.

Phantom power only on channels 1 & 2
+48 Phantom power only applies to channels 1 and 2. Massive annoyance. I love everything else about it, and upgraded from a 1 channel unit so I could record four live channels live on a piano and vocal. I can still do it with external power supplies, but that’s really disappointing. I want less gear not more. 😒

Great interface
Sounds awesome, compressor modes are a great feature and are very handy. Ability to be powered over USB c is a great portability feature.

A Good Concept that was poorly executed
Let me start by saying I am by no means an audiophile. But I do have experience with many different interfaces. I opted for the UA 476p a few months ago when looking for an interface for around $500. I spent many hours watching product reviews and going over specs. The big selling point for me was the onboard compression and vintage modes that are on the interface. Instead of compressing all these buttons are just white noise / static generators. Any time that they were engaged you could audibly hear feedback. My advice? Skip the UA Volt line altogether and get an audient Evo 16. 8 inputs, same quality preamps for the same price.
