Value Disc DVD+R Double Layer disc offers 8.5 gigabytes or 4 hours of write-once storage capacity, with up to 8X writing speeds. Double Layer nearly doubles the storage capacity of a standard DVD with two recording layers on a single-sided disc so there is no need to flip the disc. It is great to backup games and movies. Value Disc, the inventor of the CD/DVD technology offers high-quality, highly reliable qualified media.

Definitely a good deal.
I have been using dual-layer DVD+Rs for more than a decade. Burned several thousand of them. I bought these simply out of an attitude of "why not?". So far, I have bought 7 50-count spindle packs and only had one bad disc. To put this in perspective: I bought a 100-count spindle pack of Philips DVD+R DLs and had 12 out of 100 failures. A 1-in-350 failure rate is actually very good. I will buy more of these, if the price is right.

Great Media
Thought I would give these disks a try - results = 50 burns 0 coasters. Can't get any better than that.

Every disk of 16 has burned perfectly so far.
For me every disk has burned perfectly so far. first time it's happened with any DL disk brands I've tried. I hope this keeps up. Right now I couldn't be happier with them. I just ordered another pack of this brand, as a different brand I had tried failed to burn all but 2 of the disks I tried, which wasted almost a third of that pack.

Double-sided, hard to find, blank DVDs
Like most people I know, I still have a DVD/BluRay player, and I make my own videos. If you are going to make full SD 2+ hours videos and put them on a DVD then you will need a double layer one. These meet the need and are reasonably priced. The bit-error rate is a bit on the above average side, but DVDs are made to be resilient to errors. So, it did not cause any problems for me. (The key is burning these are a little below top speed to decrease write errors.)All in all, this is a good deal, and it is one you should take advantage of sooner than later.

By Far, the Most Reliable Discs I've Used.
As far as DL discs are concerned these have been the best. I don't think I've had more than 3 coasters out of 200 of this brand. I've used Verbatim, Memorex, Philips, Amazon Basics. None of those has burned near as consistently as Value Disc. That's why I keep ordering them.

Bad discs. Many write and read errors. UPDATE
UPDATESo I decided to just continue use them and I eventually found it's just very hit and miss. Some of them work flawlessly. The first 6 at least had issues but now it's just hit and miss. I'm leaning now more on just some quality control issues. I'll bump a star up since some of them are workingI have done multiple burns with these discs and they have been filled full of errors and disc write problems. I am not sure if I purchased a bad pack or what. The actual spindle was destroyed as well.I have tried Nero and Wondershare and both programs struggle with these discs. I am afraid sticking with name brand discs is a must with these.

ValueDisk Getting Back on Track for Good Product
Several months ago, I placed ValueDisk on my "Do Not Buy" List, because the last batch gave me 15 coasters out of 50. A few weeks ago I inadvertently ordered a 50-disk cake. So far out of 30-disks only one coaster. So, looks good for the price/value at this point in time.

DO NOT BUY WORTHLESS DISCS
first off, you have to format this dvds to even be usable. Second off, when copying a batch of photos 7 times the process was interrupted in the middle because the dvd was corrupted, and twice this happened very near to the end, thats already 1/5 of the discs unusable, and thats unacceptable for anybody who wants to store anything for long term like these are SUPPOSED to be for. Imagine losing your family photos, videos, or documents from work. So, save time time and money and just buy another brand.
