Required reading for biotech innovators!
Building Backwards to Biotech is required reading for our biomedical accelerator programs. It teaches our academic innovators a vitally important lesson - that it's never too early in a project to start thinking about how the product they are thinking of developing will be used in a patient. The book is informative, well-written, and compelling - if you are considering entering into the exciting world of biotech, read this book!

Inspiring and Informative
Ever wondered how lab discoveries become real healthcare solutions or why some breakthroughs don't reach their full potential? Stephanie Wisner's "Building Backwards to Biotech" dives into this. It's a must-read for budding biotech professionals or those exploring career paths. I recently met Stephanie through Dartmouth's Innovations for Cancer Accelerator program. Her passion for the subject shines through in her book's anecdotes just as much as it does in her conversations. She is amazingly candid and enthusiastic. It was an absolute pleasure meeting Stephanie and I am sure you will find her book inspiring and informative just like I did!

Amazing guide for those in both academia and industry! And for PhD+MBA students!
Building Backwards to Biotech provides a detailed/informative, but beginner-friendly, guide to biotech, with a focus on translating academic / "bench" science into impactful, successful businesses. As a PhD neuroscientist, I would highly recommend this book for those working in academic science and interested in how to get started taking their work from the lab to market. This book covers a huge variety of relevant topics using clear, well-defined language that is easily understood by folks who are new to business.I'd also highly recommend this book for PhD students interested in seeking internships and jobs in the biotech industry, and for business students interested in biotech. This book provides detailed background, personal anecdotes, and many case-study examples to clearly convey a wide variety of concepts relevant to many different audiences.

The author explores real-world case studies within the biotech industry in great detail and her story is nothing short of inspiring. She skillfully navigates the intricate details of each case, making complex scientific concepts accessible to both novices and experts. I recommend this book for anyone interested in biotech entrepreneurship.

This book was miserably redundant
This entire book could have been written in one chapter. The other 300 pages are all filler about the lessons of confidential company X and things they and their founder, confidential founder G, did to learn these hard lessons. Often the lessons scenarios are a bit of a stretch to even get to the main point. Save your money, save your time.

One of the best biotech startup books...
My first job after my PhD was at a VC firm where my role was to perform due diligence for early stage startups...working at the VC firm really changed my outlook about what it takes for a biotech company to succeed..just good science is not enough for a company to succeed..there are so many factors which one needs to keep in mind like...I am always looking to learn from successful entrepreneurs how they manage risk (especially at an early stage) to create a good commercialization strategy and set up themselves for success...the knowledge shared in thid book from numerous interviews is invaluable...the real life examples...along with references..was Amazing..
