Great and gives expected max speeds of around 900mbps. No driver issues, and if you are experiencing lower than expected speeds it is probably because you are connecting to a USB 2.0 port. Great for laptops that have no ethernet port, but if your device has an ethernet port (from the other devices I have tried using this with) it won't work, but you would have no need for this anyway. Good value and nice and sleek design. Great product.

So, grabbed this because the new 4k Smart TV I have from Toshiba has a network card inside that just doesn't do the job for streaming games etc to it.Grabbing this, there's no drivers to install on an Android TV, but I found plugging it in as expected whilst the TV is on standby led to whenever I tried to go into settings to check, the TV would freeze and reboot.A quick unplug, wait and plug back in resolved this issue and now everything is working fine (leaving the adaptor plugged in and connected to a live network cable). Just remember some TV's (like mine) turn off the USB ports when on standby, so it takes a few seconds to reconnect each time you turn it on - but the settings issue hasn't returned.All in all a good product that does the job you need it to do - streaming is now flawless speeds, if only the Steam Link app wasn't so flaky!

Modern laptops are worfully under-equipped with USB prts and many don't even have an RJ45.This works welland isn't expensive.

The Nintendo Switch has notoriously bad Wi-Fi receiver. If you can use an ethernet cable from your router to your Switch dock then it's worth doing that with this USB to ethernet adapter.It gives better performance than the official HORI adapter that's capped at 100mbps anyway.Does not work for LG TV - some folks were using adapters like this for their TV's but I think an LG TV update stopped devices like this from working with their TVs

So, I just bought a brand new HP laptop, Intel Skylake generation, and never for the life of me would I ever suspect, in this day and age, that it's ethernet port didn't support speeds up to 1Gbps... it was only Fast Ethernet (FE - 10/100mbps). I was fuming, to say the least. I have cheaper laptops that are 2-3 years older and have Gigabit adapters. Lesson learned. Anyway, I digress.After reading through quite a few reviews on Amazon I took the chance and settled for this adapter. I'm glad I did.I received it today, plugged it in my laptop (running Windows 10) and it worked straight away. Didn't even notice drivers installing, which was odd.I could also see my Netgear switch negotiated at 1Gbps, which was a good sign, so I ran a quick test and transferred some large files across to my server. Got about 113 MB/s (~0.9 Gbps) on it, which may be just how fast my disks can write, so I'm more than happy with this adapter.Will update this review if I start getting problems with it.--- UPDATE 10.02.2016 ---A month on and unfortunately, while I do get full Gigabit speeds, I have to reconnect the adapter every now and then. Sometime multiple times a day.If you are on Windows 10 make sure you go to TP-Link's website and download the latest drivers which do help somewhat but don't address the problem entirely.As a result I had to drop my rating to 3 stars - if you need to depend on your network connection then fiddling with the adapter to get back online is really not acceptable. This becomes an accessory to use temporarily when you need the speed, but falling back to your lower speed Ethernet port or even Wi-Fi if you need reliability.
