Wonderful Teapot - Great value.
First, I have not been compensated in any way for this review. Second, I purchased this tea pot despite the negative reviews. Third, I have had the Teapot for 2 months now and made about 40 to 50 pots of tea with it.Pros: The pot arrived in perfect condition and looked exactly as described. The metal rim is well made and fits snugly into the top of the glass pot. The removable infuser fits snugly into the rim and prevents any tea from entering the glass pot during brewing. The lid fits snugly into the metal rim. The glass pot holds about 6 cups. I do not ever heat the glass pot directly despite being told that it is microwave safe and neither do I try to heat the pot on the stove-top. Rather I heat the water in a Pyrex measuring cup and pour the boiling water into the top of the assembled pre-warmed Teapot.I had the pleasure of living in England many years ago and developed a discriminating taste for excellent tea. This pot using the method describedabove makes wonderful tea that is up to my rather high standards. I am using Ahmad Tea Special Blend or Ahmad Tea of London : Ceylon Tea both purchased on Amazon. Wow! Now this is real tea that reminds me of London.Overall I would like to give this Teapot a 6 star rating for its overall precision construction, looks and functionality , but likely some of the credit has to go to the Ahmad Tea I'm using, so 5 stars will have be enough.Cons: The glass teapot is indeed thin (not super thin) and likely fragile. To counter this I am extremely careful when washing. As stated, I also heat the water separately and always rinse the pot with hot tap water before filling with boiling water from the microwave so as to not take the chance on shocking the glass pot. I always wash the glass pot by itself and never allow it to come in contact with my metal sink. Once in a while I do put in in the dish washer. When hand washing I always hold one of my hands under under the glass pot to keep it from bumping any hard surface. I am always careful when lifting or re-replacing the pot onto the counter top.

Everything I Wanted and More!
This teapot is everything I wanted and more. I'm delighted with my purchase. It can be used easily without the strainer, which will be my usual use. The collar that the strainer sits in works fine and stays put when I use the pot without the strainer. The lid fits firmly so no need to hold while pouring. Unlike other teapots I've had, this one pours very neatly no matter the angle I'm holding the pot at to get the last of the tea out - no mess! The strainer has very small holes so even finer loose tea won't seep through and the strainer goes almost to bottom of pot so you can make less than a full pot successfully with loose tea. It takes up no more space than the teapot I'm replacing, but holds 10oz more. The handle is a good shape and nicely balanced for picking up the pot even when full. The price is very reasonable and less than many similar products. And, of course, the clear glass makes for a lovely display if you use blooming tea. I will recommend this pot to friends and would buy it as a gift for others.Update: Their customer service is terrific. They follow up by email after the sale offering their direct number in case of any issues. As it happened, some weeks after purchase I lost the collar (my bad entirely - apparently dumped in trash by accident when dumping out tea bags!). I contacted them via Amazon and they jumped to take care of it, no hassle from them and a clear commitment to making sure the customer is happy. A real pleasure to deal with!Added later comment on sturdiness: I had this pot for a while when I ended up cat sitting. Left the pot safely on the kitchen counter overnight with the cat in that part of the house. Next morning I discovered the pot on the floor, where it it was apparently knocked by the cat. Not a scratch on it. Now, admittedly I have 2 layers of no wax flooring in my kitchen, but I was impressed that in spite of seeming to be dainty, it proved to be sturdy.Added comment on metal ring coming out of the pot. It will click down firmly on the glass rim. I found you need to rotate it a bit until you can feel it grab hold when you press down. Still enjoying this pot very much and recommend it without reservation.

Stylish and functional; Use with a cozy and a hot pad if you want to serve tea hot
I bought this for my wife because she really likes another all-glass teapot we bought years ago, but the old one is much smaller and the lid broke. This pot doesn't bother with a glass lid or glass infuser like the old one; probably a good idea, because in our experience a glass lid or glass infuser always breaks at some point with a random bump on something in the sink or dishwasher. This pot has a very well-constructed large-capacity infuser made of perforated stainless steel. The infuser is more rigid than the kind made with wire screen, and the holes are much tinier than with a mesh / screen, so it works well with all sorts of herbs and teas even if the leaves are broken into tiny pieces. The ring the infuser hangs from (and which supports the steel lid) is friction-fit in place in the opening of the pot, The lid does not fit without using the ring. You pretty much have to remove the ring to scrub and wash the pot. Fortunately it's easy to reinstall the ring once you realize it fits when any one of the three tabs points toward the pour spout. In regular use you might want to use this pot with some sort of tea cozy on top and some sort of insulating pad (or a tiny hot plate) on bottom because its thin glass transfers the heat out of the water very quickly. A price to pay for its stylishness, I suppose. If you're using it to make something you will be icing down and serving cold, it's just about perfect. If I could have I would have knocked off a half star for that minor flaw, but I decided to "round up" to five stars. :-)

Functional, pretty, pour spout not the best
I got this as a less expensive replacement for a similar teapot. The strainer is great, the holes are small enough to brew rooibos without leaves getting in the water. It holds a lot of liquid. It's very washable, either by hand or dishwasher. The clear glass makes it easy to see how dark your tea is and it's pretty enough to leave on display. The downside is that our spout isn't quite right and the tea will run down the front of the pot, so we have to pour it over the sink or it makes a mess.
