There are many different Bluetooth speakers out there, in various shapes, sizes and with a wide array of features and extras in the box. For me, sound quality is absolutely the most important feature, but there are other considerations too such as price, size, battery life and more. This particular speaker is better than most, with a very good sound profile, an integrated power bank, weatherproofing and extended play time.This speaker is about the size of my travel coffee mug – bigger than the average speaker. It has some heft to it too and it is a little awkward to put in even an oversized pocket. It does some with a carabiner though and this makes it a lot easier to take with you when traveling as it can be clipped to a backpack, harness or even a belt loop. It is covered in a rubber mesh and the end has a rubber cap on it that make it resistant to moisture (though I would stop short of calling this speaker waterproof).As a straight Bluetooth speaker it works very well. I turned it on and put it in discoverable mode and then paired it to my tablet. It immediately paired and connected without incident and was ready to go. It pairs quickly and without any issue. The volume and track navigation controls are all on one end and are easy to understand even without referring to the manual.The sound profile is excellent. The bass is strong though not overdriven to the point of washing out the rest of the sound profile. Overdriven bass is an issue I have seen with a lot of headsets and speakers, so it is refreshing to see that the designers of this speaker did not go overboard with the bass. The midrange is very balanced and as a result the music does not sound hollow or like it is in a tunnel. The highs are clear and bright but not piercing. Overall, this speaker has a very balanced sound, though very slightly heavy-handed on the bass. I have no complaints with the sound profile. I cranked the volume on the speaker as well as at the source and turned the volume all the way up. My ears hurt, but the speaker did not distort, even when playing music with a lot of highs and lows that have caused distortion on other speakers I have used.I have tested the Bluetooth range up to about 25’ and so far it has not stuttered, skipped or dropped out on me.This is more than a speaker, though. It also is a power bank and you can use it to charge up your phone. I have an iPhone 6s and I can get two full charges from the speaker and the speaker continues to play. The capacity is listed as 7,000 mAh which is very much in the average range for power banks I have seen and used, though I have not tested to see if the capacity is actually 7,000 or whether it is off a bit. Charge speed seems to be quite average – a meter between my phone and the speaker shows 0.78A average when the phone is idle and the screen is off, which is very much in line with most other banks I have tried. Charging back up when the bank is depleted is surprisingly quick, taking less time than most banks I have used in its capacity range.The speaker’s battery lasts quite a while, longer than I have used the speaker so far. I have not confirmed the claimed 15 hour run time, but I have run it for several hours and it keeps on working.This is a much better speaker than the average Bluetooth speaker. It combines a solid speaker with a power bank, so you get both in a single package. The cost is a little higher than that of a smaller speaker and an average power bank combined, but the price is justified in the quality of the sound of the speaker and the convenience of having both devices combined into one good-looking and well-designed product. My kids love it. For the money a great little speaker. Great battery life and a cool rugged look, this speaker sounds better than my car stereo. Is it audiophile worthy, of course not. It does not sound like the Jbl extreme or a mega boom, but it does sound solid and not muddy. There is no question manufacturers of low to mid price point speakers are really stepping it up. I was able to get this at a slight discount and I am glad I took advantage of that opportunity. I would have been a little worried to put $60 down without knowing more. All in all it is a great deal and for the money is well worth the quality. Great sound, more battery mah, great look, rugged. Remember the rating is based on the value, and you will get your money's worth on this one if it ends up performing like mine is.

Absolutely awesome sound!, really rugged design, looks very nice, even has a clip so that you can hang it off of a backpack if you want. I use this in the water bottle space in my backpack and run around bumping music on campus and it's great. Can't go wrong with Bluetooth, although, I have to point out that the range of the Bluetooth connectivity is lacking, after about 15 feet it starts to waiver.
