Well I was pretty excited to receive this item. I'm not sure what type of phones the raving reviews came from, but after testing I actually prefer my regular cam settings. I have an iPhone 7 and it takes very good photos. I don't care for the way it handles light sometimes though. That said, this light is overkill on it. Pics had a more washed out look and there was extremely warm tones added, as opposed to the cool I expected. I posted a photo showing my regular camera, the light at the lowest setting attached to phone, and the light at the same setting placed NEAR the phone. My opinion is that the light is much more flattering when NOT attached to the phone. It is way too harsh and ashy when placed around the lens. It creates a white vignette and has a really unnatural cast. There are plenty of apps available that will use your screen light as a flash, essentially what this ring light is designed to do. They do a better job and the app i use (beauty cam) is free. I did try this light in a very dim room also and the same results happened- horrible washout unless you take it OFF the phone. This just isn't really ideal for me, though I do like the off-phone results. If you have a really bad camera this may be an upgrade but I find it too much and rather unflattering on my iPhone 7!

Perfect brightness for selfies and for lighting other types of photos! If you wear glasses it may reflect the circle of the light but sometimes that can be a good thing stylistically. The packaging it came in is sleek and cool to receive. I bought it for myself but could definitely see myself giving one as a gift to friends. It was smaller than I imagined but that’s what’s great about it. I can see myself easily taking it in in my bag for a night out with friends for perfect pictures all night long.

This little selfie ring light is nice and compact, but offers a good amount of light. I like taking makeup photos, but I lack adequate lighting, once daylight is gone. I don't have the money for expensive equipment, especially for a hobby, so I thought this would be a good solution. I'm quite happy with it. It doesn't provide the best lighting, but for the price, I wasn't expecting studio quality lighting. My photo shows how well it works. The left side is with my regular lighting and the right was taken with the selfie ring. I like that I can adjust the lighting level as needed. I also like the single button operation. I purchased another ring light at a similar price point, and it's performance is worlds beyond this one's.Another plus is that this light is USB-rechargeable. It charges really quickly. My biggest problem, though, is the battery capacity. While it charges quickly, it's depleted even more quickly. It doesn't hold a charge long at all. I took it to a holiday party, and it didn't last a half hour before I had to break out the power bank. So, while it does a good job of providing light, it simply doesn't have the power to be as useful as I'd like. I'd recommend the Auxiwa light, which costs less, but performs better.

This is a nifty little gadget which does exactly what it was made for, and that is to provide additional lighting for your selfie. It has 3 settings, low/medium/high for the brightness setting. So you can always adjust the level of brightness you require. However one thing I've noticed is that, the light really tends to highlight the blemishes son your face. So if you have acne or wrinkles using this gadget for uplose shots will make you look much worse, you have to be somewhat far. The best aspect has to be that it is rechargeable. Most lights tend to require batteries and replacing them can become costly. With this one if it runs out of juice just plug it in and within a little over an hour you're fully charged.

My media savvy daughter told me she needed a "Ring Light" for her SocMedia adventures. I was a hobbyist photographer a while back, so I knew what she "wanted"... this is not that. As a bit of a joke, I gifted one of these for xMas. As far as "light" goes, this is VERY bright. If you need fill light while outside or want to separate yourself from an average background, this will get it done. If you are expecting the wonderful "Rings" in your eyes (catch light) you will be disappointed. Actual "Ring Lights" are at least 12" in size (larger units give more noticeable/controllable effect).Don't worry, I'll get her a real Ring Light, after I pay for Xmas \(^_^)/

It somewhat works well. My only issue is the fact that it's awkward to place on your phone for a picture. It's large and you have to position it correctly as to not cover the camera. Would I return? No. Would I encourage you to purchase it? No. I would look for a case that has built in lights or something of that nature. This is very inconvenient and I don't see myself pulling this out of my purse to take a picture every time I would want to use it.

Works pretty well for the product that it is. Only complaint is that the battery doesn’t last that long. Gives off nice light and has multiple settings. Fits on phone with case very easily

I like the idea of rechargeable and that it is a micro usb charger. But the light that I received did not work even after charging all day and trying several different chargers. But I contacted the manufacture at the service email provided with the product and they are going to send a replacement. I will be able to give a better review once I receive a product that functions properly.
