Very clear step by step guide to how to map your brand into actionable steps
Well written in a nice style. Very clear recipe to follow to write down exactly what you want to do and why and in the process see what your brand needs to look like and how to get there. Following her steps I ended up with a nice 10-page outline of my brand strategy that I can now go develop the set of tactics I plan to use to make that become reality.

I have a shelf of my favorite books, and Karen's book is there.
The book is a must-have for every marketing person. The author provides great insights. The book takes you from A to Z of the branding. I consult small businesses who often don't have any idea where to start and in most cases, brand mapping strategy is not their top priority. This book helped me a few times explaining them why it is important to build a strong brand and the way it needs to be done.

Interesting advice for creating a personal brand, not a company brand
This is a practical book about creating a personal brand for professionals (authors, keynote speakers, lawyers, consultants). It offers very little guidance for "brand strategy" applied to firms. Easy to read with many applicable checklists, tips and shortcuts.

A good primer but not for advanced marketers
I was hopeful that I had found a book that was current, engaging, actionable and revolutionary, but this didn't fulfil that wish. The writing style is repetitive and uninspired. The promise in the prologue is far too ambitious and all-encompassing and should have been my first clue that this wasn't going to provide me with an "aha moment" and a new way to approach marketing. It is a decent primer for brand mapping but it doesn't offer any deep or unique perspectives.

Very Helpful Book
This book was able to help me gain clarity on the topic of brand and brand strategy. It's easy to understand and can be read in a day or two.

Packed with practical steps
A practical book for the independent consultant that provides clear steps for developing a brand image. The author shares information and inside scoops that must have taken years to amass. Having Karen's vast experience and knowledge available in this one easy to read book, makes it a great buy.

Four Stars
Disappointed that that book does not go into more detail about choosing colors.
