great for travel anywhere
about the 5 stars for comfort and thickness: considering you’re buying a mat for travel that is 2mm thick, the comfort is what you’d expect. comfort in this category is about stickiness and LACK of thickness for travel and being the size and thickness of a laptop inside a protective case.anyway, this is not a mat for hot yoga of any kind as it would need a towel to not be slippery with a lot of sweat. that said, vinyasa flow outside a heated room is totally doable. and just add a towel if you like hot yoga on the go.i bought this for personal practice at work and traveling and doing yoga. i washed it with a mix of 50/50 white vinegar and water with a soft bristle brush and it has been great since. it is plenty sticky for poses like that. again, no major sweat or yoga outside in the rain. using for a relatively intense workout at a pace that keeps you from becoming dripping with sweat it works awesome!i use between clients or at lunch at work. i will wear a tank top and looser yoga pants and cover it all w a suit jacket and no one can tell i am ready for yoga underneath. then, at lunch or between clients, i can drop the mat in my office and get a solid workout just removing my jacket or even the shirt i might wear, too. i cool down then add my office clothing back on the top half of my body.for me, having a mat that allows that without a big tube sticking out of my bag all bulky is fantastic. the “sacrifices” i deal with to have this fit into a work bag or suitcase are WELL worth it to me.i can also use it in hot yoga/vinyasa flow just by bringing a towel.i am totally happy with my purchase and think this is a totally usable travel mat that is easily carried. it also folds in on itself so the bottom touching the floor esp in an office or hotel room is not being introduced to the top when you can’t clean it before putting it away. nice! the bottom folds to itself! again, less concern with dirt or whatever else also being exposed in your bag.for the low price point and convenience i would easily purchase again. if you are used to a high end mat and get super drippy sweaty then maybe this isn’t for you unless you bring a towel. however, being for travel and convenience it is fantastic in my opinion. gets lots of use!

Perfect for travel
This is is exactly what o wanted. I travel a lot and want to do my yoga in the hotel room the towel was too slippery. This is the perfect size and weight to fit in my carryon it’s a great length when opened. It’s a little thin, but you need that for backing. So I now put the towel underneath and have my own personal yoga mat that is clean, not slippery and durable. The cranberry is a nice color too.

Perfect fit for my travel needs
I bought this very recently for an upcoming trip so I tried it out for the first time today and was very pleased. The length is similar to my regular mat thankfully but it’s significantly narrower which is not a problem for me. I had no limitation to my practice as a result, and of course that helps with keeping it more compact for packing. It’s not very lightweight, but lighter than an ordinary mat and with the creases for folding it’s in a good size and shape for fitting in a suitcase. I had no problems with hand or feel slippage, and it did not creep even though on a carpeted floor. It think it would perform even better on a wood floor. It’s quite thin but more substantial feeling than a yoga towel, and I prefer thinner mats anyway. However, on a surface less giving than carpet or wood I’d imagine it could be uncomfortable. That said, wherever you travel there’s likely to be a pillow or small blanket available to cushion knees and such, so it think it’s a problem easily overcome. There’s a slight odor that I anticipate will go away pretty quickly. I ordered the blue and am very happy with the color and design. I look forward to breaking it in more while on my trip and think it will be more than satisfactory for travel.

Great size, even for bigger bodies.
I’ve had this mat for a few months now. As a plus size, short girlie- it is everything I need. I have used it indoors on carpet, hard wood, and outdoors. At first I was concerned about thickness, but I don’t need anything more than 2mm. I had a 6mm before this one and it was so thick it was difficult to balance on. I also love that it folds rather than rolls so it fits nicely on a shelf or in a bag for travel. The way it folds keeps the bottom sides together so they don’t touch the top at all, inline rolling mats. It’s also easy to clean and wipe dry since it’s not porous. I’ve never slipped on it, but I could see the potential if you had sweaty hands or feet because of the type of material.

Great travel mat option
Great travel Yoga mat. Light compared to others and folds up so the floor side touches. It folds up to roughly 12x15” and 1” thick so it will take up space in any luggage but totally worth it if you want a travel mat.

Travel Mat - Nothing More
If you are looking for a yoga mat for consistent use, this is not the mat for you. If you are looking for a yoga mat for hot yoga, this is definitely not the mat for you. Go on to the next one because you will be extremely disappointed. My ride-&-die mat is a Lululemon Mat that is divine and that I love with all my heart; but it's not easy lug around when I travel as it's a bit heavy and can be stubborn to role up into a tiny roll. Which meant I never took it with me when I traveled. I've been searching for the right travel yoga mat and since I would only use it sparingly (every other month or so) I was looking for one that was inexpensive. This mat fit the bill. It's small, light weight, and folds up into a flat 12'x12' square. This is a true travel mat. It's thin and a bit slippery but that is because it's made to be small, light weight, foldable, and flat. I did have to use a yoga towel when I did a hot yoga class because this mat has no traction what-so-ever but a yoga towel is easy enough to fold into a small square as well. It saves A LOT of room in my luggage.Overall, I am happy with the mat. I gave it 3 stars because I was surprised at how VERY slippery it is (maybe I'll take a steel scrubber and scrub the mat down a bit) as I didn't want to also have to pack a yoga towel but, like I said above, a yoga towel doesn't take up much room either once folded.
