The New Orleans Bucket List: 100 offbeat adventures in the Crescent City

I bought multiple guide books for my upcoming trip to NOLA, but this one ended up being the one is used the most to plan my itinerary. The writing is both informative and witty, and it offers many unique and possibly lesser known/advertised activities and attractions that the other books don't mention. I also really like that you are getting tips from a local. Definitely recommend this book. Also, check out the podcast "Beyond Bourbon Street" for more insider tips from a NOLA local. Definitely has helped me feel more prepared for my first trip there.

Lots of ideas if you're needing such, but not if you've been lots

I live in New Orleans but in this endlessly fascinating city I am always seeking out more and more experiences for myself and ideas about what to do with visitors. This little book is AMAZING!! The suggestions are a great combination of typical "musts" (like Jackson Square and local dishes) and completely off-the-beaten-path experiences (like a twerking class or kayaking in a bayou) presented in a clear, simple to follow and hilarious way. The authors clearly know and love New Orleans, totally "get" the spirit of the city, and want everyone else to get it, too! These are the New Orleans experiences that will make you fall in love with this magical place. DO NOT come to New Orleans without this book!

This is such a fantastic book! There are such great gems in here. As a local who has only lived in N.O. for 3 years, there are so many things I didn't know about. My understanding is that the author is a tour guide, so she knows everything about this city. There are many pages where you laugh out loud, as the humor and wit brings much joy. You can read it cover to cover or just flip around the book. My boyfriend is born-and-raised here and even he didn't know some of the stuff! It is a must-have for your next visit, and a great gift for all of your friends!

This is a cute little guide about things to do in NOLA. Even if you've been before, the guide gives you new and exciting ideas to experience. Worth the purchase!

"The New Orleans Bucket List" isn't a typical tour guide.A light hearted, but good and diverse list of things to see and do in the Crescent City. It is a collection of "to do" things, with commentary and recommendations, including who should give something a pass. I have done more than a third of the recommendations, and can find no fault with them. Definitely added a few things to the itinerary for my next trip.E.M. Van Court

I was very happy with the book. It goes over several different activities. It has diversity for all kinds of different interests. Excellent buy.

What a fun read! I love the layout of this book, with each page offering a different "offbeat adventure" to experience (110 in all). Details are given of each adventure along with some local's or insider's advice and some interesting and little known facts. I have been to New Orleans many times, so I can already check off quite a few from this bucket list. Now I can't wait to get back to the Crescent City and check out so many more fun things to see and do there.
