The Legend of Zelda, Volume 1: Ocarina of Time by Akira Himekawa - Paperback

Firstly I wasn't sure of whether to give this book a 4 star rating or my intial reaction of a 3 star out of 5 (which is still a good rating). This is becasue of the drawing quality; it is truely wonderful and so the technique and finish of the drawings can't be faulted in any away, even though the story itself has faults.Nevertheless, what has caused me to drop it by the 2 extra stars i really wanted it to be is the fact it is missing so much story that I simply couldnt love it but simply enjoyed it. Essential parts of the story are missing and cause a feel of it being slighly rushed. An example of this in general is the temples; it's simply in the temple and defeat one enemy with one attack, which, to me, lacks the Zelda technique of puzzles or sense of size. Although it may be difficult to add puzzles into a graphic novel I dont think its completely impossible, even once or twice. Secondly, where are the treasure chests!?Saying that the story adds a really nice feel of life, due to realistic responses by our hero of fear and embarassment, as well as the occasional back story which fits in very well and adds a bit of humour.It is a good adaptation of a timeless classic, but as its a timeless classic I think I was expecting a bit more story wise.Overall, fantastic drawings and really lovely backstories but lacking a feel of vastness and coherency to the origional story.Worth the buy, but dont be too dissapointed if not everything fits the bill.

Being a Zelda fan I decided to read the manga, but I was not expecting this. Rather than being a random add on to one of the greatest games in history, it is an amazingly well told and well drawn story in it's own write. Every Legend of Zelda fan should read this.

Fast delivery, came well packaged and protected. Nice art and looks great with the rest of my girlfriend's collection. Would recommend to any Manga/Zelda fans.

I'm not the Zelda fan in my house so i'm afraid I can't comment on the content. It looks like a lovely manga to me though and my partner really liked it.
