Solid trick-taking game with some twists and some great art
Trick-taking games like Euchre or Spades or Bridge have enduring popularity for good reason. They're usually easy to set up, exciting to play, good for having casual conversation during, not too "thinky" but do provide big moments where you feel clever. Deadly Desserts is a fantastic take on the genre. One annoying thing about these games usually is they are almost always locked in at 4 players, whereas Desserts accommodates a wide range of players. The art is SUPER colorful and delightful for kids. Every card has unique art (though the two decks included are identical), so it adds an extra dimension of theme to what is typically a theme-less experience. It's a lot more fun to be like "oh no, the swine got me!" than "oh, I got the 9".The creators also came up with a brilliant mechanism to include once you get a few plays under your belt. One card per suit has an extra special power (either tons of extra "damage" or healing or whatever). At the beginning of the hand, if you want to commit to it, you can swap out one of these you currently have with a two-sided EXTRA powerful version of the card. So now you've committed to everyone around the table seeing that you have that card and trying their best to negotiate tricks around that knowledge (either to evade it or to capture it depending).WHO THIS IS FOR:-people who love trick-taking games or want to get into trick-taking games-people who want to play at events/gettogethers where they may greater or fewer than 4 players-people who want a game where people can join late or leave early. Pretty easy between hands to shuffle people in or re-compensate for when someone has to leave to, say, tend to the Thanksgiving turkey.-adults who want a grown-up game that their smaller kids can play along with.-people who like cute art

First playthrough was funny, second playthrough was deadly
The characters are punny, one of my favorites being Phil E. Chi Steak, a philly cheese steak sandwich doing a tai chi move. My girlfriend, her younger siblings, and I spent most of our first playthrough laughing and salivating over the characters (cinnamon-breathing pancake gets me hungry). After we picked up on the strategy a bit, things started getting competitive. My girlfriend obliterated us and won in a single round by Sugar Rushing with the Hangry Pig and Double Agent Seltzer. This game has a good amount of strategy once you play enough. Solid addition to our game nights, the cards are well-designed and the gameplay is addicting.

A Game of Food: A Song of Asparaguy & Froyozen
I don’t typically take a chance on a new board game, but something about an all-out-royale of 2-10 players with colorful food cards appealed to me. What I really liked about this game is that in the back of each of the players’ points card there are strategy tips. This helps a lot especially if new players want to quickly learn the game. I also found the game less intimidating than playing Monopoly and teaching new players. Overall, a solid game that families and friends can easily play.PS: For those looking for a Secret Santa or a White Elephant gift, then look no further. This game fits the food bill.

Ehhh, it's ok
This game is like spades but with some twists. The directions on a few things weren't clear enough for my liking, like if you are supposed to end the game when the deck is gone, or if you should reshuffle the deck and play until someone loses. One of the special cards was confusing as well, I had to watch a YouTube video on it to fully understand. I have only played two player games, maybe it would be more fun with more people, but I think I prefer spades all the same.

Boring
One of the most uneventful & boring games I've ever purchased for my daughter. Definitely for the younger kids. It says age 7+. It's more like 7 and younger.

Cutest game
The designs in this game are soooo cute 😍 and it makes it a lot more fun to play, the game is fairly simply and it’s a good game to play with family members. My 10 year old sister loved it and I (being 23) enjoyed it as well. 😊 you never know what you might get with a new card! ✨
