Q: Does this need to be thinned to use in an airbrush?

It's thin enough to use straight from the bottle. It could be thinned a bit if you want really thin layers but it isn't necessary.

Yes... With caveats. If you are using it on wood, mdf or a similarly porous surface, you can. For use on models, miniature and the like, it's going to be more likely that instead of smoothing the surface, you'll just take off all of the primer. Vallejo primer isn't self etching, so adhesion, especially on metal, isn't nearly as good as you would find from rattle can spray paint, leaving you sad if you try and sand. Aces on wood though.

If you put it on thick it will take at most 2-3 minutes to dry. Also as an FYI this is best used with thinner before using it in an airbrush

Pretty good

This paint sticks well so far on plastic surfaces, such as figures. It may look like it's barely grasping on plastic surfaces, but just wait for it to dry in 12 hours and voila!
