Really like this machine
Bought this after we bought a house on a heavily wooded 3.2acres. Have been using it for about a month now (probably about 15 hours of run-time), and it works great. It makes quick work of long straight trees, and does reasonably well with leaves/pine needles. So far only got stuck once with some stringy twig branches, and clearing it out is a piece of cake--the top flips up after twisting just one knob. Takes about 30 seconds to clear out. Overall a very well designed and well functioning piece of equipment. Have not had to take out the blade for sharpening yet, but seems like it should be pretty easy. Also, it's not too heavy, and is fairly easily to pull around the yard.Things that could be improved - it says it can take branches up to 2.5 inches, but it can struggle with the thicker branches/trees, depending on what type of wood it is. This is to be expected though. Your average straight maple or oak tree goes right through it though. Seems to struggle with more gnarled branches, like some curvy pine type bushes, etc.The assembly is fairly straight forward, but the instructions could be a bit more clear. Also make sure you save the screws and bolts holding it down to the pallett it arrives on.

Good prototype
Bought it direct from the company in Miami, FL. Very practical design, but needs work. From the top:- well packaged for shipment. A metal cage on a palette. Keep the metal cage, if you want to test it first.- assembly complicated by features that were left for easier assembly, difficult to access places to put it together.- too many screws when one with snap on design would do.- one blade only. It works with soft woods. Very hard on harder woods or dry. Vibration is difficult to handle.- narrow footprint. It can tip over when pushing in longer branches.- starts with difficulty. Needs two strokes with choke and switch to fully open. Very dependent on outside temperature.- flimsy switch off. Be careful not to twist it too far.- small opening at the end of the funnel. It makes impossible to push through the smaller branches or leaves.Overall: chips come out large, larger chips go through and final outcome looks not well done.
