Good quality meter with top end features for the price
I bought this multi meter for the various features such as the Non Contact Live Wire detection, temperature sensor as well as the auto power off function. The quality of the plastics and probes seem of good quality. I like the clear display and the auto ranging. It seems to be accurate comparing with my other meter. It has caps on the probes at the meter end so ensure you remove these or you cannot plug them in :)It also has plugs on the tips which can be removed to allow longer exposed probes. The torch is a bit weak but just enough to provide light where you might need it in a dark environment. The back light on the display is good.I like the auto power off and can be disabled if required but holding down the Function key and turning the meter on by selecting a required mode.Ensure you have the temperature probe plugged in the correct way for accurate values. The hold function only works if you are testing and press it when required. You cannot press it and then probe to obtain a value. The min and max values work differently though so you can press this button and then probe for the min and max values which are saved. The Non Contact Voltage detection was a big reason to pick this version and it does appear to work fairly well.It has sometimes picked up 'voltages' when getting near metal objects to not sure how much I could trust it.It seems to measure AC and DC accurately compared to my other meter.Weirdly it comes with 2 AA batteries installed which is a bit strange since there are a few reviews out there where these have leaked and damaged the unit.I removed these on receiving the unit to replace with my preference of batteries.I've already reached out to the Astro AI support email to ask about an icon on the display and this was answered within 4 hours. It was the small timer icon (which means battery saver enabled) that was not documented in the manual.Overall a good quality if slightly large meter and I hope it lasts a long time.

Versatile, robust bit of kit, NCV is quite weak.
All probe functionality seems to work fine. Torch and screen light are a nice touch. Works well for hobby electronics at least. Temperature probe also seems to work, though I can't confirm its accuracy.Tried out the NCV around my light sockets and it struggled to really pick anything up away from the socket itself so I wouldn't necessarily trust it too much for home wiring (though my house is old and the wiring is a bit of a mess).

A great Bit of Kit
Well, I looked and looked! And there are a lot of them about and they may be as good as each other, except for the best of the bunch like Fluke, which you will pay an arm and a leg for, but it depends what you want it for. Me, I've been in the electronics trade for over 40 years. I was still using my old AVO, since they were always the best and will probably outlive me. But if you need something to measure Voltage, Current, Frequency, and Temperature for less than £30, then you cannot go wrong with this little beast. It is robust, for the inexperienced user it has all the safety bells and whistles, It makes use of a function select so you have an array of different measurements you can make under a single dial setting, what more can I say. I like it, and it appears to do exactly what it says on the box and I've still got my arm and my leg!D.

Useless for milliamps - Read edit first
Edit- I would like to add that AstroAi customer support reached out to me after this review, and was very apologetic about the situation. They said they would forward the problem to their engineers to sort it out. They offered a full refund or replacement product to resolve the issues I had. This is very good customer service that a lot of manufacturers take for granted these days and in my opinion, is 100% worth mentioning before you read my initial review first. They also want to list the fuses used inside because there very uncommon where I live so parts were easily available to their customers. Thank you Stella.First of all, it's a nice meter. The light that shows you where you put your leads when you change the dial, very nice. But...the mA setting on it is a county mile away from being accurate, and the A setting is useless also for milliamps because it can't read low enough so you can't get an accurate reading either way. Probably good enough for a mechanic or someone using it for higher power draw jobs, but for PCB work of circuits you would be doing in college, forget about it.Also, impossible to get 600mA/250V 32mm where I am. Looked about getting them online from the usual electronic places and for a 50 cent fuse was 20 euro handling fee.

Value for Money High Quality Auto-Ranging DMM
This AstroAI TRMS 6000 DMM in its distinctive red colour offers a decent performance and many advanced features, including auto-ranging, at a great price. There is a large clear LCD display and a rotary dial that make it easy to select the required function. The silicone case provides protection against damage when dropped, and there is an integrated kickstand. The package includes batteries, probes and a thermocouple. The AstroAI TRMS 6000 DMM performance compares favourably with my old Fluke DMM in many areas, and once again, it delivers a very capable performance at a great price.

No Shock at this price
Easy to use and read. Ideal for general testing that I use it for, mainly voltage, continuity and resistance. Bought in sale which made it an exceptionally good buy. Recommended.

Nice meter but throw away the batteries!
Nice meter covers all of the basics well, they all seem to be a generic Chinese made templated type these days, but this one feels a little nicer. It's my second one because the batteries in the first one leaked and destroyed the mainboard. Throw away the supplied batteries and put some better ones in. 4 stars for making me buy it twice.
