impressive piece of kit
At first I did not think it was going to work as the light & buzzer did not activate when hand held & touched on a metal object. However before returning the item I fitted it into a collet on my milling machine and it worked straight away.Set up the fixed jaw on my machine vice to within 0.0003" very easily. I am very pleased with my purchase.

very accurate edge finder
I was surprised how accurate it was having used a wobble stick in the past.

Spot on
Works a treat, buzzers not the loudest for a factory setting but with the light it's more than enough

Delivered with 0.3mm bend on shaft
Bought this for work as a CNC machinist. Took me a few parts being wrong to realise that the smaller diameter shaft was bent by 0.3mm

Disappointing
This is a disappointing product. Despite appearing to be well made, it has significant flaws.Firstly, the ball does not return well to the central position. By displacing it, I could get readings fluctuating by .06mm (the accuracy is supposed to be .01mm).It is long- much longer than it needs to be. In my collet, it projects some 110mm. This amplifies any lack of concentricity, and (because it does not rotate) any runout. It also means the Z axis will often need to be adjusted (that 110mm); another source of error. Whilst I can easily achieve .01mm in my mill with a standard edge finder, this gave errors in the 0.1mm range (measuring a gauge block). It is wholly unsuitable for precise work. I am searching for a use case- I may well return it.

The LED has stopped working
The quality of the edge finder body is very good but its let down by the LED inside it. It simply stopped working on the 4th time I used it. It was very accurate when it was working so its disappointing.
