Samsung Galaxy Book S 13.3 Inch 8 GB Intel i5 Laptop - Mercury Grey (UK Version)

Well, now that Samsung and Amazon have sorted themselves out you can have the colour you want. I opted for Earthy Gold ... very fetching. I'd like to say more about the cool good looks of this machine, but the reviews of it are monitored by Herr somebody or other, and he stamps his feet and fulminates if you don't adhere strictly to his interpretation of what constitutes a good review i.e. a detailed, technical analysis of the merits/demerits of said product. If you don't, he petulantly contacts Amazon and has your review removed. So, if this one ever even appears, make the most of it ... it'll soon be gone ... Right, Herr X ... ?!?Anyway, not being computer literate, I can't get technical at all. But this is a slim, neat, classy and very light beauty. To be honest, it makes my partner's high end Pixelbook look and feel like a brick. I've been using that, and I never thought I'd say this, but it is (mostly) a real pleasure to be back on good old Windows ... it's all coming back to me, and everything is easy again, like transferring photos from my phone. Yes, that's the height of my ambition in using a laptop. Plus shopping on Amazon. What a waste of a wonderful machine, eh ... ?!? It's like they used to say about our brains - we only use 10% of them; well, same with this computer and me. But I don't care, because it's so cool you could just sit and look at it sometimes, never mind use it.I've even managed to link my (Samsung) phone to it via the already installed Your Phone app, so if I'm on the Book S, and I get a text or email or whatever, I don't have to go to the bother of picking up my phone, which is usually sitting beside me ... it all comes up on the screen ... ! I haven't decided yet what I'll do with the time I save by not having to pick up my mobile on these occasions.Sorry I can't be more nerdy about all this thing can do. Someone like Herr X will put that on. In the meantime, if you want a smart, compact, lightweight little item to do the usual stuff - browsing, pontificating on social media, shopping, whatever - this one is the bee's knees.Update ... still as beautiful as ever, this machine ... facebook and Amazon have never looked so neat. But enough about looks. If you want a case for it, forget the ridiculously expensive, duff Samsung 'pouch'. Get this instead: ROYALZ Vintage Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy Book Flex Alpha Protective Cover 13.3 Inch Sleeve Design Case Tablet Folder Flat Genuine Leather Case [ASIN B084MN3PQ8]. Sturdy, quality leather case, much cheaper, but very stylish.

Excellent laptop at a great price. Would highly recommend. Battery life is excellent as is performance.

Purchased this laptop in used but perfect condition in June 2021. Now it's completely dead.The good:- very light laptop that is also very thin (that is not a positive for me, but it is for some)- very nice display- good enough sound, good enough built-in camera and microphone- good boot up and shut down time, good enough power for microsoft applications, movies, and not overtly power-hungry games.- nice design aesthetics- good battery lifeBad:- very short lived. Touchpad gone after half a year, keyboard after about a year. Startup problems (not starting up, only after a couple of attempts) eventually ending up in a dead laptop.- slightly flimsy feel due to the very thin build. The metal alloy frame helps, but still feels under-engineered.- only two USB-C ports, one of which is used for powering it, ie only 1 port available, forcing workarounds.- mobile-style build, making it very unfriendly for trying to fix/exchange anything on it.

Battery life not even close to what is advertisedPoor customer service from SamsungScreen went dark with vertical lines after 18 months. Samsung refused to acknowledge 24 months European warranty requirement on appliances.Amazon was great and offered refundWould avoid Samsung in the future

Great laptop

I ordered the Earthy Gold colour but I received the Mercury Grey one. Not happy. Laptop is nice just a shame I didn't get the colour I wanted.
