space saver
my wife plays 14 instruments. we don't have a lot of room for a full sized drum set. i bought this out of curiosity to see if she would like it. it has great sound and was very simple to set up! what a space saver.

snare and high hat work perfect but the cymbals dont work
Bought these drums for my son who was so excited to be able to learn to play drums. Got it out and hooked it up and almost everything worked. Bass, toms, snare and high hat work perfect but the cymbals dont work. I figured it must be the connectors so I went to guitar center and got all new cords... That was not it. I plugged those pads into tom slots and they worked fine so it is just the cymbals on the module. We also have 1 pad that is not working at all either. I sent an email to support this morning and decided to go ahead and give them a call. As of right now I have been on hold for 40 minutes. They just answered the phone to transfered to an answering machine. Not very happy at all right now.Edit: I called Pyle customer care, or lack there of. After waiting approximately 40 minutes the agent answered the phone. After explaining my issue he promptly transfered me without my knowledge to an answering machine. I left a voicemail stating my issue and hung up... did I get a call back.... NO!So, I decided to email. Emailed and got an answer saying to send in the defective products along with fifteen dollars to cover shipping if they find the product was defective. Needless to say the drums are going in the garbage and I'll quit trying to cheap out and go with the Yamaha drums I had originally planned on buying in the first place.Update: The head unit quit working last night. These things are junk and their customer care BLOWS!

Can't recommend it, but not sure if there are better options
First, the photo with this review is not correct. I have always wanted to drum; I don't care too much if anyone ever hears me do it, but it is fun, and this basic and affordable kit is just fine for that. It is otherwise overly ambitious, with far too many settings and far too little explanation of how to achieve them. It is tedious but not difficult to set up. I wish the snare was bigger and more central, like most drum kits, and the bass drum is hard to control with the pedal, often rattling off multiple beats when only one it intended. The most frustrating part is the central command module, the lifeblood, constantly stops making sounds and has to be turned off and back on, often as much as 4 times in 30 minutes. I have asked the company for advice and heard nothing back. I would look around more if I were you and not just go with the cheapest option. It is very quiet for everyone else around if played with headphones on, which is its greatest merit, and most of the sounds are realistic. It is best played with an iPod or your phone playing the song through the system with headphones on.

and was relatively easy to assemble
Item arrived on schedule, and was relatively easy to assemble. My son is a drummer in the middle-school band, so we wanted this for him to be able to practice in the basement without driving everyone crazy in colder weather. We have a full drum kit in the garage for warmer weather. Once assembled and plugged in, only the left side of the electronic "brains" unit works. Nothing plugged into the right side (base, crash, etc.) is audible in the headphones. We switched the high-hat pedal (which plugs in on the left - and works just fine) to the right, and there is no sound. Tried changing cables, but it's pretty obvious that the right side of the control unit just doesn't work. Very disappointed. Hard to practice electronic drums without a base drum or crash cymbal.

Great drum set
Product was not too difficult to assemble, works great, and when we had and issue with a the cable for one of the drums, the manufacture's technical support was excellent in resolving the issue to our satisfaction.

This is a wonderful set for practices
This is a wonderful set for practices. The only thing I would like to see with the sets would be a sampler loop and the additions of a port to play with an amplifier.I would also like to expand the set to be a bit larger to a 9 to 12 pcs set without having to purchase an another set...yet with the sets additional pcs would also have to have another sound box that can add additional sounds as well.
