Works very well.

These cleaning solutions are legit. They work almost perfectly for cleaning off old and dried thermal grease or thermal wax, and the company's website has a set of useful instructions for how to use it: [...]Basically, the solution labeled '1' is the one you use first to clean off the grease and dissolve it. You keep it there for maybe 30 to 60 seconds, and then wipe it off or put something over it to soak up the dissolved grease. I used paper towels for this. After it's all cleaned off, you apply '2', which is a purifier that removes all the tiny particles of leftover stuff, and basically makes it very shiny, smooth, and ready for thermal grease application. The purifier you can wipe immediately, using lint free cloth. I also used paper towels, since I didn't have coffee filters or eyeglasses cloth at hand, but it works fine as long as the towels aren't dusty.Overall, the cleaning fluids worked great, and I used the Arctic Silver 5 grease for my laptop after cleaning it with these. You could probably go by without buying these, but it gives a lot of peace of mind to know that you're using something specially formulated just for thermal grease and wax cleaning, instead of potentially different mixes of isopropyl alcohol. Might be good to air out the room you're working in, since it does have a bit of an odd lemon-y smell.

Great cleaning solution for old thermal compound residue!

In preparing for my new gaming PC build, I new that I was going to reuse my CPU air cooler (CoolerMaster V6GT), so I would need to clean the old thermal compound off of the metal base of the cooler. Everything I'd read talked about 99% isopropyl alcohol, no less. Well, all I can find is 91%, which I imagine would work, but I wanted to make sure I was doing this RIGHT (this was my first time building a system myself). I'd come across this 2-step kit on Amazon and thought I'd give it some thought. Online research showed that people who had used it were happy, so I decided to give it a shot.I did the build today. I used lint-free cloths I bought from my local office supply store to first wipe the old excess paste off the CPU cooler. Then I placed several drops of the 1st bottle. It smelled great (very citrus-y) and took off the remaining compound after several light wipes with the cloth (folding it a few times to use a clean cloth surface throughout). Then I applied a few drops of the 2nd bottle and gently wiped it to a polished shine. It worked great and there's still plenty left if I need to reseat the cooler anytime soon.Very pleased!

Works as expected!

After getting high temps on my Alienware m17 I decided to repaste. This was my first repaste I had done and was a little nervous about diving into the various components. I figured if I am going to attempt this, I wanted to be prepared. I got all of the recommended materials including these solutions as well as thermal grizzly kryonaut. After removing the heatsink I was surprised to see how think (practically transparent) the stock paste was. I have read that Alienware in particular using junk paste. I followed the directions on the bottles. I first applied only a drop or two from Bottle 1 to each component (CPU and GPU) and let it sit for about a minute. Afterward I used a business card (to scrape away the gunk) and a coffee filter and micro fiber cloth to clean the rest. I then applied Bottle 2 to polish or finish the surfaces on both the CPU, GPU and their heatsink plates with a micro fiber cloth. As you can see in my photos the CPU and GPU with super clean and ready for the thermal grizzly application. Though I do not have any experiences with other solutions, these solutions, manufactured by a reputable thermal management company (Arctic Silver) worked fine. I would definitely recommend it to anyone for ease of use, function and peace of mind.

Used to repaste a Dell XPS 13 heatsink. Works perfectly.

Solution number 1 dissolved the old thermal pad like a wonder. No struggles at all, just let it soak into the material, and wipe off with a Q-tip. It smells a lot like goo-gone, it has a citrus like scent, not unpleasant at all. Solution number 2 cleans off the first solution and cleans up the surface rather nice. It smells a little bit like 409, no detectable alcohol or ammonia type odors though. Once all was done, I had a perfectly clean CPU surface and a perfectly clean heatsink, which I used Arctic Silver 5 to reattach. Great stuff! I honestly did not expect it to work as well as it did. Never going to remove old heatsink material manually anymore, this stuff is the bees knees.

Best Product For The Job!

I've used the ArctiClean brand thermal paste removal solutions for years now and never had a problem. The bottles come labeled one and two making it very simple to use.Just add a drop or two of the part one solution onto the thermal paste you want to remove. Let it sit for a minute or two and wipe the surface clean. In a pinch, coffee filters work great as rags for this but be sure to wear some type of glove as the paste can be a pain to get off your hand. Repeat this step if needed.Do the same with the second solution and you'll end up with a shiny clean surface to apply some real thermal paste onto and you're done! You could do this step twice but once seems to work fine if you cleaned it well with the first solution.Overall, out of forty or so custom computer builds, I've seen an average temperature drop of 4-5 degrees Celsius (Using Arctic Silver Thermal Paste) over the stock paste that comes already applied, making it almost a requirement for anyone who wants to overclock their computer and get the optimal performance.
