Works perfectly!

Bought this as a life time weather junkie. Set up was a little difficult because you feel like you might break it trying to get the post pressed into position to put the bolt through.Once I got it together and placed outside, I couldn't get it to keep my time. It always kept going back to UTC time. So I contacted tech support through email and got a fast, informative reply to which walked me through the steps. To display the correct time for your specific time zone, you’ll need to change the time zone in the CLOCK setting mode from 00 (default) to your specific time zone ( UTC-6 for CST).1. In normal operating mode, press and hold the CLOCK SET button for two (2) seconds to enter the clock setting menu.2. Press the or buttons to adjust the time zone, and then press and hold the CLOCK SET button for two (2) seconds to confirm and exit the menu.Easy as pie! Love it!

Great weather station

This is my third weather station in the last 10+ years, first was a LaCross (sucked) next station was a Acurite which was good although had connection issues after working flawlessly for 3yrs, eventually anemometer stopped working and only gave me temp and rainfall. I've basically resigned myself to the fact that the life expectancy of these units is 4 to 5 years at best, after all they are in harsh environments and not many things can withstand the extremes of being outdoors. At this price point that is what you get which I'm perfectly content with, it is what it is. Now as for the unit, easy install, easy set up, great display so far very happy with it although its only been up for a week. Mine is mounted on a mast on my roof so its about 30' high from ground level (better for accurate wind speeds) . I will say though that the directions are lacking with regard to setting up the wifi part of things, I have not set mine up as its not really important to me at this point. I thought there would be an app and such, apparently not the case. None the less, at this price point its a great weather station, just keep things in perspective considering its a $120 unit made of plastic.

Works good, mounting could be better

Prefacing this with admission that I purchased this as a Used-Like New unit here on Amazon. The setup was rather simple enough, I set up a WUnderground account, and it was pretty simple to get the display unit into pairing mode and hook it to the WiFi, and the outdoor unit connected quickly. Ideally the inside display could be an inch or two larger all around to make it easier to see from further away but it isn't awful, and the digits are at least not something that looks like it's from a 1980's calculator.I do wish there was an option to connect a solar panel to the outdoor unit to avoid the need to change batteries - mine is mounted up on the eave of my shed outside to get a more accurate wind reading but it means up and down a ladder for any battery changes. An option solar panel would've been great, even at additional expense. The biggest issue with the entire thing, is the mounting for the outdoor unit. It needs to be oriented in a particular direction, to face North. Well, On the one hand, the bracket will allow surface or wall mounting, or even mounting to a small diameter (1" or so) pole. That's good. What's not so good though is that if you aren't mounting to a pole, you better hope you either have a flat level surface somewhere, or a wall that faces perpendicular to North. And to make it worse, the mounting pole is not bidirectional. It has a taper meaning you can only mount it in one orientation, which also means you can only mount the mounting bracket in one direction. Honestly, that is a pointless decision, when it would've been easier to just have a square pole and mounting holes so the bracket could at least give you four directions to mount to, versus one.I had the perfect spot on the BACK of my shed in which to mount it, which luckily for me faces E-W so the unit would've faced North as intended, except the bracket was backwards for that mounting location. So my choices were to either use an additional block screwed to the side of the wall that I could then mount this to, or mount it above the front door instead. This could've been completely eliminated by having at the very least an octagonal mounting pole and sleeve, but even just a regular square would've been better than this is.I got lucky, others might have to get creative to get it faced North properly.Otherwise, I do like it thus far. No major storms yet to test, but so far so good.
