Super nice
I didn’t expect a whole lot from had pastels but was pleasantly surprised. Totally different from soft pastels but really good for sketching.

Prismacolor has pretty good art supplies
Only a few pice a came broken when delivered but that’s not really an issue for me since I’m aware how easy it is for these to break (hint: don’t drop them) and they’re still usable. First time using these pastels for my figure drawing class, it’s a bit of work and definitely not a medium for everyone but the colors are vibrant and you can definitely do skin colors with the large variety of colors given in this set. I’m no expert in using these so my project came out in pretty bright colors , I don’t know if you can layer the colors to mute the colors more but overall I’m happy with the results. For good art supplies the price isn’t too bad but still a bit much. I was lucky and got these cheap by buying it on sale and with reward points for almost nothing at all. If your going to buy these full price at least be sure that this is the medium you like to work with, I would recommend the smaller pastel set but that set won’t work for making skin tones and all the colors are pretty bright. This one has more variety in colors that allow darker and muted shades to come through. Overall, prisma color makes pretty good art supplies so buying this brand isn’t a mistake though I guess very artist has their preference.

Great product, misleading photo.
I have been planning to buy a set of these for awhile now, so finally went for it. I do want to mention what sold me was the muted earth tone colors depicted in the photo for the product, because I like to use that range of colors for my life drawing sessions and loved the look of the set. Upon receiving the product, they are the standard set with the range of bright colors as depicted in other postings. This is not slight on the product, and I will still use them, but it would be most helpful to future buyers to have that muted photo replaced with a corrected version depicting the actual color range. Additionally, if Prismacolor reads these reviews, offering a full set of muted earth tone colors would be spectacular, so here's an opportunity to add to your lineup with a customer requested set.

I love these chalks, the only issue was that some of them came broken.

Product good, shipping not
Love the item! Bright colors exactly as expected. HOWEVER, the warehouse needs to ship these differently!! Six were broken into multiple pieces. No protection at all, came in a thin plastic envelope.

Nice Variety of Colors, Great Pigment
Bought these recently because I wanted a large variety of colors and was quite frankly tired of the 30 mix and match colored pencils that gave me little artistic freedom, plus the brand variety gave me little consitency. I have used Primacolor in the past, and upon reading reviews decided to purchase this set of 150. I am not disappointed. The pigment is rich, and comes pretty smoothly. They are easy to work with in regards to pressure sensitivity. They also blend well if you know what you are doing. Some folks complained about the sharpening, and one review that I read recommended the "pro art" sharpener. I bought this as well and it worked beautifully. The sharpener doesn't take off much and leaves a nice tip when you wish to make fine lines.
