Yes its a little pricey, but, so are the knives. That said, it looks great in a modern kitchen. One thing to consider is that the angle in which is holds the knifes is different than a traditional wood block. I store my knives on the counter with cabinets directly above them. This has caused issues getting knives out, as they hit the bottom of the top cabinets.

Really like it - larger than I anticipated - misjudged size. Expensive but really looks good in my kitchen. Solid & well made. Would recommend.

As expected

I've now had this Global Knife Block for quite some time and it resides proudly on the island in my kitchen displaying my Global knives. It sits firmly on the counter because the base grips well and I have my knives safely stored and handy for my use. The block is stunningly designed and I've even had guests remark about how good looking it is. I would highly recommend it.

Bought to match knives we had. Unit is okay, but not as "solid" as we had anticipated. Would have kept it but it turned out to be a little too tall and there wasn't enough room on the counter and under the cabinet where we wanted it.

I have a whole set of Global knives. This holder looks great and is very functional. I am not a fan of wooden blocks. Most non-wooden blocks do not hold knives in a way as to not hurt the blade. This knife block allows the knives to sit in their slots without ever touching the blade. It has thick holes for the forged knives and thin ones for the stamped knives. It also has a hole for your sharpener.

I was very disappointed with this Global knife block. It's a cheap plastic knife block wrapped in aluminum with black stickers on it. Very light weight and does not complement the excellent build quality of the Global knifes it holds. For over $150 + I expected a much better quality product.Also, the item I received had obviously been returned to the Amazon seller (cookdazzle.com) by other customers. The box was ripped and covered with three fluorescent stickers, there were fingerprints all over the knife block, and there was no literature inside. I've had good luck with other Amazon sellers in the past, but I'll avoid anything from cookdazzle.com in the future.

Attractive and easy to slide knives in and out

I have a set of six Global knives of varying size and use plus the excellent shears/scissors.I wanted a global block (only - as I had the knives) and have been trying to get this one for a couple of years.Primarily because it can accommodate the shears as well as the knives.It can hold my widest knife, the G5 vegetable chopper, and my longest, G9 bread knife, and even has two wider slots.There are 10 slots in total but I think it may get a little cluttered if using all of the slots.I love it and would definitely recommend it.
