This it is great, it has all of the tools needed for a beginner like myself. The only gripe I have is the yarn, the colors are a good variety, but a good variety of colors I’m not personally interested in for my projects. The yarn is also a thinner yarn (hence being able to fit in a smaller case), which is harder for a beginner. I purchased a thicker yarn so I could practice with that before using the yarn that came with the kit.

this set is great with the set of hooks but the yarn is TERRIBLE to crochet with, especially as a beginner. I almost gave up trying to crochet because of this yarn. Luckily I ordered better yarn and it’s a game changer! The hooks and carrying case are great and worth the price, but please buy better yarn to crochet with!

This is a nice product. I got it for the price and design the ergonomic hooks were something I have been looking for as computer work is doing a number on my hands (not age I swear). This would be a nice gift for someone that is just learning or wants to learn. The yarn is soft and the carrying case for the hooks and other items you receive is nice as well. I have put many of my other hooks in the case as well without overstuffing it so everything is together.

The hooks are great! The yarn SUCKS!!! It is not what a beginner should use. Once I went out and bought the right kind of yarn I could actually work and complete a square. This yarn is NOT for beginners at all.

The tools seem to be really great, especially for beginners. The yarn, however, seems too thin and flimsy while trying to learn. I’ve had to put learning crochet on pause and order different yarn. Adding a chunkier yarn to this set would make it perfect.

THIS YARN IS ALMOST UNUSABLE - NOT FOR BEGINNERS!!My recommendation would be to purchase a more inexpensive set of hooks, and purchasing quality yarn separately. While this is a good idea, and the hooks themselves work perfectly fine, the quality of this yarn is extremely poor, and should not be given to a beginner, especially a child attempting to learn! Invest your money elsewhere.

I like the product because it gives me everything I needed to learn to crochet. However, I have used six of the balls of yarn already and three of them have cuts in the middle of the yarn. It appears they noticed the cuts and just tied a knot to make up the whole roll. At least 1 of them had three cuts and was tied back together. The fourth roll was just broken, not even tied. I do not want broken yarn when making something.
