It's not going to last long in most 5 year old boys' hands!
Gave this to my 5 year old nephew for his birthday. He loved it. Broke 2 of the figures within a day. Still, he did enjoy the destruction! However, I would think since you have to throw or smash them to open the figures, they would make them a little more durable.
