Q: i see other testers around less then $100 that do +25mW from the product page it states <1.3 mW output power, is this accurate?

The output power level listed on the device is < 1.3 mW; wavelength 630-670 nm; class II laser product. I will tell you that the device works very well across great distances. The light source is very strong so it may be a combination of power level and wavelength that make it work well. Also we use a lot of Fluke devices and find them to be very reliable although a bit more expensive.

Thank you for your question. The Visifault has a range of 3 km on Multimode fiber and 4 km on Singlemode fiber.

We use them daily to set up very large area (Railroad) fiber networks around the worldThey are very rugged, and we have never had a problem.They have been of sufficient value and reliability that even if there was no warranty, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase them.

A good product.

This product works very well for testing fiber optic cables. Its small size, easy to use and its portabbility is a plus.

Not your typical Fluke quality

Haven’t used this yet to fault locate, but the dust cap is way to sloppy to effectively protect from dust. So loose it pops off on it’s own. Will revisit review after use to fault locate.
