Rusting is a perennial problem in India especially in regions where moisture level is high almost round the year. This is a great product and I have bought at least six cans till now.

The rust converterfrom Rust-x is working as claimed. Converts the rusted portion and covers with a protective layer. Used sparingly so far, but satisfied with the results. Also used a rust converter from Pidilite which costs half, is thinner & spreads better (so covers more area). But you need to wash the target with water to remove acidic residue and you need to apply primer too before painting. So Rust-X saves more time and effort though would cost more which is okay.

This is a must have product for those suffering from rust menace. Best value for money.Before applying this to the rusted iron, the surface has to be cleaned well without any loose chippings, so that this product can give a lasting solution for rusting problems.. I bought 1 bottle and tried it on a small portion of my solar panel steel structure and saw its fantastic results. Immediately ordered 4 bottles to complete the work.The only downside when applying it, is the brush will get hardened like a stone if not done quickly and continously.In case you want to reuse the same brush, keep a WD40 Bottle and after completing your work, spray generous amount of WD40 on the brush (before it gets hard) and rinse with it thoroughly. Your brush will be as good as new for re-use (psst.. I just discovered this today, after throwing away 2 brushes .. ha ha ha)

I'm writing this review after one year of using this product on a rusted iron structure on my open terrace.It does what it says.The coat that it has created on my iron structure has remained intact and rust free despite of a heavy monsoon season.Highly recommended product.

Not worth the money spent

The product is expensive for the benefits. The liquid consistency is not good. It is very difficult to apply using brush. The final finish achieved is very bad. The liquid has a setting time of 10 mins so has to be applied very quickly. The viscosity is thick so can not be used in spray gun. No instructions on how to dilute it and with what. I did not see much of reaction with rust. At the best it creates a hydrophobic layer over material. Not recommended.

How would I tell the difference if it is just a compond which turns black after application or actually converts rust inert?It turns to black on wood plastic and even hands.

The cap of the bottle was not sealed but the inner cap looked firm and untampered. I have used it on a rusted cooler tank which is going to be used for growing plants. So needed something to take care of rust. The coating has not turned fully black but only in small specs , however it looks good and very protective against action of water over time. I have given two coatings on inner side . Dried comfortably fast for handling . Rest time will tell but certainly ,the polymer like coating it gives looks much more protective against rust than pure paint. I will enamel paint tomorrow. Thanx for this innovative product which is otherwise unknown in the market. I think it will be good for rusting on water supply pipe too
