Product pics do NOT do it justice.
This thing is just beautiful. I knew the measurements when I ordered it. But somehow I just imagined it bigger and clunkier than it is. When it arrived it was smaller, daintier and much prettier than I imagined. I'm thrilled with it. I'm using it as a terrarium. Well really a snail-arium. In collecting moss and other plants for terrariums, I discovered extremely tiny land snails in the dirt that are native to most of the U.S. They're only 1 to 2 mm in diameter and their teeth are so tiny that they can only eat plant matter that is already decaying. I actually feed them boiled lettuce that has been nourished with organic plant food. I'm including a close-up picture in my photos, in the lower right area of the photo you will be able to see one of the tiny white snails. The genus is vallonia. This container is not watertight. I looked high and low for something that was cute that also happened to be watertight. Couldn't find it. Not at the size I wanted. If it was water tight, it was usually ugly. If it was cute, it usually wasn't watertight. So I used some black aquarium silicone sealant to make the bottom two inches watertight so that I would not have to worry about keeping my terrarium watered. It was an easy fix and I'm glad I went to the small amount of extra effort it took in order to have this beautiful little garden box.If you were just raising succulents or cacti that require very little water you probably don't need to seal the bottom, you probably only need to slip a tray underneath it every few months when you water them. But if you are going to keep a terrarium you will either need to make the bottom few inches water tight, or keep a tray underneath. As snails cannot be in an enclosed terrarium, they require more oxygen than it can provide, I only sealed the bottom couple inches because I wanted the extra air flow in the seams just in case I didn't get around to opening the terrarium on some days.Anyway I absolutely love this little thing and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. The only downside I can possibly think of is that when I went to clean the glass prior to use it seemed like the black from the seams smudged off and made smudges onto the glass. Those smudges could be cleaned off but it made the glass difficult to get really nice and clean. Using some really good microfiber cloths seemed to solve that problem though. Just a heads up.Ps - for anyone wondering, the moss in my photos is real, but the tiny plants are faux ones that I added for some extra cuteness.Shelly C.

Beautiful, cute, small, perfect
It's exactly what I wanted. It has a little door that lifts up and has a little prop rod that can be used to hold the lid up. It's so tiny and adorable. I set up a terrarium inside with a drainage layer of rocks and carbon, screen, then soil and plants. The plants I have are wintergreen and some moss. To decorate mine, I wrapped some fairy lights around the outside (not included). From reading other reviews, it seems like I was very fortunate to have it be totally unbroken upon arrival, but also watertight.UPDATE: Not watertight. Water slowly leaks out of the joints on the bottom. It definitely doesn't hold any volume of liquid water. I am a little disappointed by that, but not too much. It will still be just fine for what I set up. The wintergreen and moss are both doing great in there.

Check the dimensions before your purchase
I bought this terrarium to house my Venus flytrap. For starters it’s a bit smaller than the picture leads it’s customers to believe. The first picture shows that it can hold about four different succulents but they would have to be very small ones to accommodate the size. I’d say maybe two regular sized ones would fit but really that may be snug root-wise. It’s important to check the dimensions picture that they provide before purchasing. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for plants that have extremely long root systems or plants that need a boggy or marshy type of environment because the sides tend to leak if too much water is contained at once. It is nice however for plants that need a humid sunny environment. Despite the leaking and size, my Venus flytrap has been doing quite nicely in it.

DO NOT BUY!
Yes, this looks gorgeous! Yes, this is the perfect opportunity to get new house decorations! Yes, this is perfect for the sunny window sill- until the moment you realize that before you even have a chance to put something in it, the metal is cheap and the decorations snap right off when they are touched! I was not happy this product. For the price I paid, this is practically a scam! DO NOT BUY THIS!

Using as a Mini Greenhouse
Got this to use as a Mini Tabletop Greenhouse for propagation purposes. Be sure to pay attention to the dimensions because it is not very big at all! I knew this going in and so I was able to find a Bonsai Drip Tray that fits in perfectly. I lined the tray with stones and filled the bottom with water to give off the extra humidity. I may or may not add a special “heating pad” to the bottom later on. So far the humidity is around 60/66% so it’s doing what I intended it to do. I would recommend. Right now it’s holding an African Violet.

Great boost to your workplace!
This set comes in a set of two cubically shaped terrarium with an. It is made out of panes of glass soldered together to form its cubic shape. It sits perfectly leveled on any square side or lay "tilted" when placed on the chopped (flattened) corner. I filled one up with water to test for leakage and it is indeed WATERPROOF!Safe to say that I am very happy with my purchase and love the way it looks on my bookshelf. What a great way to incorporate plants into your workspace!

broken glass received twice
I'm sorry to say, but both times I ordered this set, it arrived with broken glass on the larger vase. Not only is it unpleasant, but also dangerous. Second time tiny glass particles were all over my clothes, and I had to literally throw it away.

Home to a snail
Arrived in one piece, packed in molded styrofoam. It's made of real glass, not acrylic. It's not watertight but it's a terrarium, not an aquarium, so that's fine. It looks good without feeling so expensive you don't want to touch it. It's now the home of a little grove snail and some moss.My only complaint is that the arm that holds up the lid swings free when the lid is closed. The slightest vibration will cause the arm to tap against the glass. It's easy enough to block though and not worth docking a star.
