Great product
bought this for our Golden Retriever to keep her in the yard and from jumping on people. Works very well, in fact sometime all I have to do is pick it up and she responds without me even having to use it.

Life changer!
The media could not be loaded. This w collar is the best thing I’ve ever purchase for my dog. EVER.He is an 11 year old pitbull that has never had a good recall. He is the kind of dog that knows his commands, is obedient on leash, in our fenced yard, and obedient in the house. BUT the moment he can escape, he will! He has been this way since he was 3 months old. He will dart past, rush, and use any open door as an opportunity to run. He will run for miles and hours chasing squirrels, birds, cats, etc. and will quite literally ignore all attempts to recall. Now that he’s a senior dog, these escapes happen much less often, and he will eventually give up after he’s being chased for a while. However, we are getting a new puppy and really didn’t want her to learn from his bad behaviors.I researched for a few weeks before we decided on this brand. I figured if hunting dogs could be trained with this thing, so could my boy.Y’all, I can’t believe what this collar has done to my dog! Here are the PROS:-remote is easy to use and fits well into my hand-having tone, static, and vibrate are great options and avoid unnecessary static corrections as he responds well to tone by itself. Most times I don’t even need to press the tone button.-I use static levels 1-2, and he’s totally responsive.-range is phenomenal. Can go from one end of a park to the other and have control over him.-He no longer darts out the door.-I can walk him on a leash without his prong collar.-he can walk outside with me off leash and comes as soon as I say his name.-he can be in the run with our chickens and doesn’t even flinch when they come near.-on walks he is rarely, if ever distracted or interested in chasing ANYTHING-As soon as I take the collar off of the charger in the mornings. He is at my feet wagging his tail and waiting for me to put it on. He’s a happier dog now that he has so much more freedom! Now for the Cons:-despite following the collar adjustment guidelines, my boy developed sores on his neck. I would suggest checking regularly in case any develop. He was wearing his collar for long durations because I didn’t want him to escape and then not have the collar on to reinforce my training, thus destroying all of our progress. Once he became more reliable and trustworthy to respond to his recall, I now leave the collar extremely loose(so he can at least hear the tone), and adjust tighter when we go outdoors.-both collar and remote have to be charged nightly, or you risk it not being fully charged. I made the mistake of skipping one night. It worked the next morning, but was dead that evening when I needed it to be working. I can miss a night here or there, but if we will be out all day(using the collar),I have to charge it in the morning to be safe. I would recommend charging as soon as you remove it.-personally, the lanyard is uncomfortable hanging around my neck. I would much rather prefer there were a clip on the remote so that I can attach to my waistband.-there are times that I press the tone button, and it’s delayed in relating the beep. I notice this more often if I skip a charge the night before.-vibration doesn’t seem to have an affect on my dog as far as being a correction.-using this device requires already having a dog who understands basic obedience commands. You can’t just strap it on and start using static and expecting your dog to be an angel.*In the wrong hands, this collar can do more harm than good. It requires research and technique to properly train with e-collar*Overall: research e collar training techniques, be patient, and enjoy. Highly recommend!!

Short on battery life - but otherwise, a great product!
I feel the battery life is the only inconvenience with this collar. We only have to use the “beep” option now that he is trained well, but we find it drains just as quick as it did when we used the vibrate option. We have only used the “shock” option twice (once while trying to snap at 5 mo old kittens, and once when he ran out the front door towards the road after a person jogging and he was told to stay- both of which he could/would have inflicted pain /injury to the other party, so no need to lecture or judge our use of product)We just have to charge the battery each night so that we can continue to use the “beep” option, which is a bit off putting, but otherwise- the actual product use has worked better than other products or alternatives.

Decent E Collar
Bought to help with off lead recall for my 1 year old, psychopath lab. This is NOT a punishment tool!!! Your dog should NEVER see you holding the remote out in a threatening way!!!I have been training dogs for years and know how to properly condition a dog for e collar training. Just follow the included instructions, consult with a dog trainer or consult using YouTube videos to properly train yourself in how this collar (and other E collars) should be used. Go ahead and put your fingers on the prongs to feel what it feels like. If you’re going to use it on your dog, you should know what they will feel! It’ll give you a bit more respect for your animal, too. This collar works well, is constructed at the same level of quality as better brands I’ve used (costing twice this) and is easy to use. The dial is a bit difficult to turn one handed (maybe I had fingers that are too soft?!) so I end up holding the remote with one hand and turning the dial with the other. My lab responds well to the vibration while training. She occasionally needs to be reminded that my vocal command needs to be respected, and I bump it to 1 on those occasions.I have used this at the beach and it works when wet with no issues. Both collar and remote hold a long charge - I haven’t had to recharge at all and I’ve used intermittently for over a month.I just wish it was able to connect to two collars so I could use for two dogs while training and playing off leash!

Quality product
I have used the first one without issue for three years. I had to replace because we lost the collar. This one is just as dependable.

Stopped Working Within a Week of Use
This is my second Sportdog collar and my first negative Amazon review. This collar is junk. I expected as much when I took it out of the packaging to see the flimsy plastic connectors on the charger, but I hoped for the best regardless. After a week of light use, the light on the remote is staying on and the collar no longer responds to the remote.I previously owned a Sportdog 825X that I purchased in 2020. The 825X collar lasted a bit longer, still less than two years before it also stopped responding to the remote. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and purchased another. I unfortunately will be returning this one and it will be my last purchase from Sportdog. As much as I hoped this would work, and as well as my dog responded to it, a collar costing over $100 should not malfunction within a week of use. Additionally, my previously owned 825X should have lasted a lot longer than it did given the price, but I suppose that is water under the bridge at this point.Perhaps the higher end Sportdog collars are more durable and long-lasting. If you are considering buying this collar, I would encourage you to look elsewhere. They seem to have largely positive reviews so they must be doing something right, but they have been a letdown for me thus far.
