"It is completely understandable that people bury their heads in the sand, and if we don’t look too closely, life doesn’t look too bad in many areas of the world. But that is going to change, and there is some logical outcome to the way this system works. It will affect every one of us.""Don’t be an obedient, mindless consumer - your spending decision is a real power.""By choosing to spend your money wisely, you can promote those companies that do business in a socially responsible way.""No company will continue a practice or a product that you, the consumer, will not buy. It’s vitally important that you understand this because this gives you the ultimate power to change the world you live in.""Without saying a word, you will send a clear message that they simply cannot ignore; it will be heard, heeded, and acted upon.""The minute we start taking responsibility, and spending our money wisely, every politician, every corporation and leader around the world is going to know that we have woken up, and that is the most important point of this movie.""...you and I taking responsibility; you and I demanding the truth, learning the facts, and making our decisions accordingly..."And yet, I see some reviewers accusing the movie of promoting "communism."This movie promotes democracy, and reminds us, The People, of our rights and superpowers to hold our public servants accountable. We have the right to demand that our public servants do the job they were employed for. Their job is to serve the broad public interest, and not just the narrow interest of a few (tax-evading) majority-shareholders and board members of multinational corporations. Our demand for accountability, and the rule of law, is not communism. The movie has an occasional typographical error, but the message is pure medicine, and very important to hear.

Ethos
I will give this film a B-.First of all we do not want democracy. We want a republic. This was never brought up. We have democracy now and it does not work. Capitalism is a good thing but it only works when YOU do. Ethos took excerpts from several films I have seen and combined them into mini-versions via this film. Some of it was very close to plagiarism.Use your search engine and watch OVERVIEW OF AMERICA. You must not watch anything else until you understand the different forms of government and what a republic truly is.Next go to WHY WE FIGHT.'The Handbook of Human Ownership:A Manual for New Tax Farmers" is a must see for every person living today. An afternoon with Ron Paul <this will explain more about The Federal ReserveThe World According to Monsanto is a real eye opener.John Perkins: Confession of a Corporate Hitman. If you wish to be free of fossil fuel, begin to educate yourself about marijuana and hemp. Fuel and oil can be made from hemp. Please read Audubon's Incite: Legalize It for a list of the magnificent products that can be produced from this incredible plant. However, the police and private prisons obtain human prisoners which become "legal" slaves and the profits are HUGE so they do not want it legalized. The oil men do not want this, nor do the timber men, soybean and corn farmers, cotton producers, the cancer industry does not want anyone to know about the cure. I could go on and on here. Please go to TrueWorldHistory.info for a wealth of knowledge plus check into The Survival Podcast. Both will provide you with 99% you need.EDUCATE YOURSELVES. Makes great points, with some flaws
Overall, I thought it was good but could have been better. There are parts of this that I found to be spot on, but there were other parts that I found to be overgeneralized, cliche'd, or insufficiently supported with evidence. For example, I liked the information about the over-influence of wealth in government, in particular in promoting endless warfare for private interests (and the manipulation of media to manufacture consent). However, it paints too easily and with too broad a paintbrush the alleged evils (corporations, capitalism), the interests of the "common man" (which are probably not as simplistic and uniform as this film makes them sound), and the solutions (the bit about "making wiser purchases" and the degree to which corporations tremble at woke consumers seemed a bit naive, given what was presented prior to that point). It supports some claims, but makes other claims (e.g. peak oil at 2015) with a lot of confidence relative to the amount of justification provided. Finally, I find grammatical errors to show a lack of effort, especially when the errors occur in written text on screen (e.g. "concent" instead of "consent" and "it's" instead of "its").I just wanted to be specific about my criticisms for clarity, but overall, I think it is worth watching.
