This Was Extremely Easy To Replace And Cost Less Than 27.00
First off, this only took about 1 minute to replace. Google your model number of your TV as this fits many of the Bravia TV's and download the owner's manual onto your computer. Go to the index and look up "Replacing the lamp" section in the owner's manual to see exactly how to do this. Unplug TV and wait 30 minutes until your old lamp cools down. Put on disposable rubber or plastic gloves so you do not transfer any oil from your hands onto the lamp assembly unit. Do not touch the lamp. Open initial TV frame door by pressing on 3 tabs and set aside. Unlock lamp track door by gently moving to the right and pulling straight out, set aside and notice this door has the word TOP written on it. Pull lamp straight out and notice that the electrical wires are on one side. Cut shipping plastic off the new lamp and insert into track until you cannot gently push in anymore. Slide door on the track and push until you hear a click. Lamp door is now locked in position. Replace outside TV frame access door until it clicks in. The Sony owner's manual instructions claim that you also have to set the LAMP REPLACEMENT option in the TV's general settings after installation, but I did not have to. They also claim that you have to reset the TV's initial settings after installing, I did not have to. When you power it up for the first time after installation, the lamp will seem dim, don't worry, it goes to normal brightness after about 3 minutes of warm up. Shelf life on this lamp is claimed to be 6,000 hours vs. Sony's initial lamp that came with the TV- rated at 10,000 hours of viewing. I believe that I only received about 6,000 hours on the Sony lamp. My Sony Bravia TV was purchased in September of 2007, so the initial lamp lasted about 7 years. This was too easy to do, it took me longer to write this review.

Projector Lamp
I don't have enough words to say how happy I am about this. I have a 50" Sony Bravia that I bought in 2007. I love this TV and when the "replace lamp" message started coming on, I panicked. I had no idea how much it would be to replace those or if I could even find the part. I did some research and found that the OEM part was 80-100.00. Although this is much cheaper than buying a new TV, I didn't want to spend that right now, we just moved and money is tight. I found this lamp on Amazon for 37.00 and took a chance with it. The shipping was super fast and it arrived well packaged. The hardest part of the replacement was getting it out of the box. Once I opened the side panel door the replacement process took less than a minute!! The picture is just as good as it was when the TV was new. There is no way to tell this is a replacement lamp. I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone. To be honest, its only been installed for 3 days, but I will update this if anything goes wrong in the future!Sept 7th, 2014: I turn on my TV and hear the sound of glass exploding. Yep, the lamp is toast. Almost lasted a year. I did expect a little longer life out of it.

Works fine, picture is back to what it should be
Installed in a few minutes w/o problems. Works fine, picture is back to what it should be. Have only used for a week so only time will tell if this bulb has the claimed 6,000 hrs. For what I paid I will be happy with half of that. After reading many reviews of these OEM bulbs the problem seems to be their longetivity. For twenty bucks I figure I'd give it a shot. Initially it works as it should and if anything goes wrong I will upadate my review.

So far, so good
So far, so good, but this is only day one of the lamp being installed. It worked right out of the box. I bought two. At that price, I can afford it. The OEM (Sony) wanted over $200 for the same bulb. I read other reviews that had problems with the bulbs. If something adverse happens, I will amend this review if problems arise.

Happy but still early to tell...
i own a SONY projection 37" and have been extremely happy with it. i have gotten the 'Replace Bulb - Near End of Life' message and decided to look into replacing prior to it actually dying. Came across this replacement for much cheaper than the standard price and it arrived quickly and well packaged. i have decided, however, to wait until the old bulb actually dies (which is still going strong weeks later with the same message) before i replace it. So although i am extremely pleased upon coming across this bulb, the price and the ease of purchase, i am unable to review the quality of the bulb itself. i will add more to this review once i've actually used it.

$22 for 6 months, $100 for 9 years. You do the math.
I purchased this in July of 2016. On installation it was somewhat brighter than the old one which lasted probably 8 years. On turning on the TV it had the same message of " The bulb is at the end of it's life.". Had to be a mistake and thought I just didn't know how to reset the TV. Guess what, the TV was right. By January, the bulb was getting noticeably dark. I swear I saw a one year warrantee on the page so I sent exclusivebulbs a message requesting replacement. Sorry about your luck but only a 90 day warrantee! On looking at the amazon page I couldn't find any warrantee information but I was looking at a new listing. I did see one thing. Do you want to purchase this item again. 6 months versus 9 years, NOT HARDLY. $22 for 6 months, $100 for 9 years. You do the math

Replacement Lamp for Sony
Previously purchased same bulb; failed under warranty. Purchase another outright while dealing with RMA. Vendor made good on warranty. Only problem was paid for 2nd day, but "storms" delayed delivery. So I have a brand new lamp in hand and one in set....original OEM lasted over 4 years, this is an equivalent not OEM.
